Since June 24, a Binh Duong provincial delegation led by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly’s Delegation, has visited and worked in Tokyo, Japan.

At a meeting with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mai Hung Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that with the official development assistance (ODA) of JICA, Binh Duong province had invested in two projects: Improving the water environment of South Binh Duong in phases 1 and 2, solving water drainage and water treatment problems in Thu Dau Mot city and Thuan An City. To make the most of the advantages of regional linkages, Binh Duong has been implementing transport infrastructure projects to connect with Long Thanh international airport in Dong Nai province, Cai Mep seaport in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, highways in Binh Phuoc province to facilitate comprehensive logistics and TOD development (public transport-oriented urban development model).
To facilitate logistics development from industrial parks to airports and seaports; urban projects in Binh Duong New City and TOD projects on the My Phuoc – Tan Van highway researched and developed by Tokyu Group, Binh Duong province proposed the Japanese Government and JICA to pay attention, support ODA and accelerate the implementation of projects.
On behalf of Binh Duong provincial leaders, Nguyen Van Loi highly appreciated and thanked JICA for its interest and ODA loans for projects to improve the water environment of Binh Duong province in recent years, contributing to environmental protection, ensuring public health and meeting the sustainable development requirements. The Provincial Party Secretary hoped that on the basis of the friendly cooperation between the two countries of Vietnam and Japan as well as the close cooperation between Binh Duong province and JICA, Binh Duong would continue to receive the attention and support of JICA in accelerating the progress of transport infrastructure projects connecting airport, seaports, regional linkages, promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
Yamanaka Shinichi, a member of JICA's member council, in charge of Southeast Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and Europe, said that JICA would actively work with Binh Duong to hold specific working sessions to develop plans for project implementation as soon as possible.
Also on this visit to Japan, the delegation visited and discussed the friendly cooperation between Binh Duong Province and Yamaguchi Prefecture.
