Work effectiveness elevated

Based on the patriotic emulations, the Department of Customs has eyed many collectives and individuals have good and creative ways of doing things, improving management methods, applying information technology, etc. to bring about high efficiency in the public sector. Typically, in the field of customs operations, the group of Mr. Le Xuan Anh at the Customs Branch of Song Than Industrial Park and Mr. Bui Duong Man at the Customs Branch outside the Industrial Park had the initiative of preventive solutions against violations on the origin of goods of enterprises. Since this initiative was put into effect, it has helped to classify import and export declarations, improved risk management efficiency, and strengthened the management of import and export activities of enterprises in the area.

From the actual work every year, the branches under the Department of Customs are allocated a lot of businesses that need to collect information, on average, about 400 businesses need to collect information based on the criteria of the General Department of Customs. In particular, during the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic with complicated developments that required social distancing. To contribute to COVID-19 prevention and control and to facilitate and limit travel for businesses, Mr. Le Minh Quoc Thinh, Head of the Organization, Personnel and Inspector, and Mr. Ho Duc Ky at Thu Dau Mot Customs Branch have jointly researched and launched the initiative to thoroughly apply email software like zalo, viber, Ecus5-Vnacc 2018, and public service system. Accordingly, the collection of business information by sending soft files, documents, and forms via email, zalo, or viber accompanied by a document detailing how businesses provide information to be collected on the Ecus5-Vnacc 2018 customs declaration software, or update at the online public service system declaration program at http://pus.customs.gov.vn. The synchronization, flexibility and creativity has contributed to improving risk management in all customs operations, bringing higher efficiency and excellent completion of key tasks of the unit, especially during the outbreak of the COVID-19.

In the field of information technology, Binh Duong provincial Department of Customs also has many effective initiatives, especially the initiative to upgrade the VNACCS statistical reporting software to supplement and complete a number of new functions for work. Some reports and statistics serve the needs arising from each case, from time to time, by topic, so there are many reports, review and analysis of data that officials and the cadres have to manually manipulate. Stemming from such limitation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Phuong, Deputy Director of the Customs Branch of Song Than Industrial Park and Mr. Pham Triet Binh of Information Technology Division have jointly researched to come up with an initiative to build software that adds many additional features and functions to support cadres and officers in the process of working, ensuring fast, efficient and accurate operations.

Missions well accomplished

According to the Department of Customs, over the years, the patriotic emulations at the unit has always been maintained and developed strongly by practical and effective work. Specifically, the initiatives in 2021 will be effectively applied in 2022 with 4 researches and 41 improvement initiatives of 80 individuals recognized by the Department of Customs; in which, 4 topics and 3 initiatives in professional areas were proposed by the Customs Department to the General Department of Customs to recognize sector-level initiatives. The improvement initiatives of the unit are very creative, innovative and practical. Notably, the Department has recognized many initiatives in the field of customs operations, administrative reforms, customs modernization, information technology, anti-smuggling, etc., which has contributed to improving public efficiency and cooperation, helping the unit complete its tasks well in the condition that the staff does not increase.

In 2022, continuing to respond to the creative labor emulations, successfully implementing the objectives and tasks, right from the beginning of the year, the Department of Customs has launched the emulation movement of "Solidarity - Discipline – Creativity – Efficiency – Determination” to successfully implement smart customs. The movement has been concretized into emulation contents associated with the determination to successfully complete the set key tasks.

“The Department of Customs is always interested in encouraging and creating favorable conditions for civil servants to promote creativity and innovation to improve work efficiency. Every year, effective initiatives and improvements are reviewed, recognized, praised and rewarded in a timely manner to encourage the spirit and encourage creative research activities throughout the unit,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Phuong said.
