Binh Duong ranks second at 2014 national Muay championships

The 2014 National Muay (Thai boxing) Championships yesterday concluded at Phan Dinh Phung sporting event hall in HCM city after five days of competition.

On the final competition day, Nguyen Ke Nhon and Huynh Van Dung of Binh Duong won two gold medals in the men’s 51kg and 67kg weight categories, respectively. Two other gold medals of Binh Duong at the tournament went to Vuong Van Tin in the men’s 57 kg weight category and Le Thi Ngoc Chau in the women’s 60kg weight category. Binh Duong also grasped five bronze medals.

With the above achievement, Binh Duong ranked second at the tournament. HCM city toped the tournament with six gold medals, two silver medals and six bronze medals. Ca Mau finished third with two gold medals, one silver medal and seven bronze medals.

This year’s tournament absorbed 179 athletes from 18 teams across the country, who competed for 31 sets of medals. It took place from August 22 to 26.
