From August 5 to 7, a delegation from Binh Duong Province, led by Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from departments, sectors and representatives of outstanding businesses in the province, paid a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). The purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperative relations, learn about infrastructure and technology, promote investment and trade with localities and partners in Germany.

The delegation had a meeting with the government of Heidelberg city. Schmidt Lamontain, Deputy Mayor of Heidelberg city presided over the reception of the delegation, along with leaders from departments in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. During the meeting, both sides briefly informed of the two localities’ socio-economic development. Mr. Schmidt Lamontain expressed his admiration for Binh Duong’s socio-economic growth, particularly the local industrial while expressing his desire to enhance cooperation in various fields, especially in training and technology transfer in the healthcare sector and implement bilateral activities in line with each locality's strengths.
On this occasion, leaders of Binh Duong provincial People's Committee and the government of Heidelberg city officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop their relationship based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit, affirming a desire to establish a cooperative relationship between the two localities in the near future. Under the MoU, Binh Duong provincial People's Committee and Heidelberg city will strengthen their friendship and expand cooperative activities in various fields, including economy, education, culture, urban planning, science and technology, training and technology transfer in healthcare and other fields through exchanges and mutual support.
The delegation also visited the Innovation Lab, BioLabs, successful models in Heidelberg, and attended a presentation on the Technology Park, which includes a high-tech innovation park. These models and practical experience provide valuable insights for Binh Duong in developing science, technology and innovation.
The delegation also participated in the ENAS & SAXONY SILICON event in the city of Chemnitz. They were welcomed and had discussion at the Fraunhofer ENAS Institute with Mr. Thomas Schmidt, Minister of the Regional Development of Sachsen, and Professor Dr. Harald Kuhn, Director of the Fraunhofer ENAS Institute. During the meeting, Mr. Thomas Schmidt shared some information about the state of Sachsen as well as the local activities in industry, economy and high technology.
After the meeting, Becamex IDC signed a MoU with Fraunhofer ENAS Institute to establish a research center for microelectronics and intelligent systems based on the ENAS model in Binh Duong.
