Binh Duong new city is an economic-political and social hub of the province in the future. This modern city has a link with economic zones in the province and in the region. To cater the demand for the flexible city’s development, there is a strong development on education system herein with the birth of international universities such as Eastern International University (EIU), Vietnam-German University (VGU). The education system will contribute to supplying hi-quality human resources for the development of Binh Duong new city and the industrialization and modernization cause of Binh Duong.

Int’l universities set up

The birth of EIU is a highlight for the development of education-training system in Binh Duong new city. EIU covering on an area of 26ha in the new city will train 24,000 students per year, satisfying the demand on hi-quality human resources for tens of thousands of enterprises operating in the locality and Southern key economic zone. EIU is invested with the main tasks that are human resource training, technology application - transfer and scientific research; a major factor in improvement of science – technology as well as technological change promotion to production development, thus contributing to socio- economic development in Binh Duong and the region.

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc - EIU Rector, EIU has so far absorbed 2,473 students in regular training. The school has attached special importance to probation and practice activities for students right from the first academic year. Along with the motto of “Training in association with enterprises and practice”, EIU has paid attention to teaching English for students in order to ensure that they will easily seek good jobs after graduation…

Investors in the education field have paid attention to the development of Binh Duong New City in the future since provincial People’s Committee mapped out a planning for construction of this land. That is also reason why Vietnam-German University has been set up in the new city. It is built with a target of being among 200 Vietnam’s biggest universities.

Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU)  is now under construction in the My Phuoc industrial and urban area with a scale of tens of hectares. Possibly speaking, the development of a series of universities, including TDMU, EIU and VGU on an area of more than 100 hectares will help form up a village of universities in the new city. They will supply human resources for Binh Duong new city, industrial parks and many other economic zones in the province…

To standard primary, secondary and high schools

Apart from the above universities, schools at all levels, from kindergarten to high school have been built in Binh Duong new city with a total expense amounting to hundreds of billion of dong.

Ngo Thoi Nhiem Primary – Secondary – High School is built on a 28,000 sq.m area with total investment capital of VND250bln. With modern material facilities, the school matches the development scale of Binh Duong new city. Being an education unit with the affirmed brand and prestige in Ho Chi Minh City over the past years, with day-boarding and boarding training models at primary, secondary and high school levels, the activities of Ngo Thoi Nhiem School in Binh Duong will practically contribute to the local educational socialization policy.

Realizing great potentials of the new city, Nguyen Khuyen Education Development Joint Stock Company decided to build its branch on an area of 2 hectares on Nguyen Van Linh street in Binh Duong new city. Noticeably, the rate of the school’s pupils passing the annual university entrance examination reaches nearly 100%. 2013-2014 was the first academic year of Nguyen Khuyen School in the Binh Duong new city with 23 classrooms and 925 pupils.

Whilst, Ngo Thoi Nhiem preschool is being built in the center of Binh Duong new city with a total area of 30,000 sq.m and it is expected for operation in June 2014. Once operation, it will bring kids a friendly and close education environment, helping them have a comprehensive development.

It will be a shortcoming if not mentioning the birth of Singapore International School (SIS) under Kinderworld Education Group. SIS worked in the Canary urban complex in 2009 and was moved to a new facility of 2.6 hectares for 2,400 pupils at all levels on Le Loi street in Binh Duong new city in 2012.

Public schools in the new city and the neighboring areas are being built under national standards. Hoa Phu secondary school is recognized as a school with national standards. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, Head of TDM city’s Division of Education and Training said that the local administration has mapped out plans on building 2 preschools and 2 primary schools in Hoa Phu and Phu Tan wards. All will be built in accordance with national standards with a total expense of more than VND250bln.

Possibly speaking, all schools in Binh Duong new city will make a close coherence for education and training activities, actively contributing to raising the quality of the province’s human resource training for the province and promoting the development of the province’s industrialization and modernization cause.
