Binh Duong’s students towards national sea and islands

Update: 22-08-2015 | 12:24:22

A camping festival named “Students with national sea and islands” has taken place in the central province of Binh Dinh. At the camping festival, Binh Dinh province’s Youth Union held a ceremony to inaugurate a national flagpole on the Cu Lao Xanh island (for the second phase of construction). Binh Duong province’s Youth Union supported VND300mln to build the work.

The camping festival absorbed 1,200 outstanding members of the Vietnamese Students’ Association and overseas Vietnamese students with many significant activities. Among the participants, 8 came from Binh Duong province.

Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of Binh Duong province’s Youth Union together with students of the province took a photograph as souvenir at the national flagpole on the Cu Lao Xanh island in Quy Nho city

The participants visited, presented gifts to soldiers and people on the Cu Lao Xanh island in Quy Nho city; inaugurated the national flagpole for the second phase of construction; visited historical landmarks in Binh Dinh province; participated in a marathon, a talk show on Binh Dinh’s traditional martial arts activities; enjoyed art performances…They also had a chance to talk with Professor Ngo Bao Chau.

Each activity seemed to give all 1,200 students at the camping festival more love for the nation. On behalf of thousands of Binh Duong’s youngsters, 8 local students expressed their friendly spirit and enthusiasm at the camping festival. During the trip to Binh Dinh province, they spent a sleepless night on making bracelets and key rings with the message of “Students love national sea and island” in order to give them for soldiers on duty to protect the national sea and island sovereignty, fishermen and other students at the camping festival.

Coming to the camping festival, along with visiting historical landmarks in Binh Dinh, students had a chance to upgrade more information about national sea and islands via a communication program on the situation of East Sea and Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagoes at Quy Nho International Center of Interdisciplinary Science Education. They also had a talk with two professors Ngo Bao Chau, Phung Ho Hai…

Students had their own lessons from many significant activities at the camping festival, especially they had a chance to widen their knowledge about national sea and islands. This will help each of them become an active propagandist on Vietnam’s sovereignty over sea and islands.

Sharing her thought of the trip, Tran Thi Thu Hong, a student of Eastern International University said: “I felt very honorably when being sort out to attend such a significant trip. The trip consolidated my patriotism and love for national sea and islands. I also had a chance to take part in valuable activities towards national sea and islands, thereby helping me raise my responsibility in keeping and defending national sovereignty over sea and islands”.
