Binh Duong’s tourism sector further gets thriving

Binh Duong’s tourism sector continued reaching good growth over the past time. Thanks to the State’s efforts in facilitating travel units’ development, the local tourism sector gained certain advances.

According to the assessment of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the local tourism sector reached certain advances over the past years. The province saw an increase in the number of tourism projects, especially large-scale ones, namely The Mira hotel, Becamex hotel, Thuy Chau eco-tourism site, Dot Champa eco-tourism site, Mekong Golf Course…Province-based tourism sites also obtained annual stability in the number of visitors and amount of revenue.

Among province-based tourism sites, the Lac Canh Dai Nam Van Hien tourist complex is a place absorbing the most visitors because it has a combination between cultural-historical and spiritual values together with interesting entertainment activities. Vo Van No, Head of the Tourism Division under provincial Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism said that the number of visitors to the tourist complex has accounted for nearly 50% of visitors traveling to the province. Province-based three golf courses, namely Song Be, Twin Doves and Mekong, have also lured tourists from abroad.

Over the past years, Binh Duong’s tourism sector achieved good growth with the annual increase in the number of tourists. Binh Duong is now home to a lot of attractive tourism sites, including Lai Thieu fruit orchards in Thuan An town, Bach Dang pomelo orchards in Tan Uyen town, Phu An Bamboo Village in Ben Cat town-the first and larger bamboo reserve in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Cau Mountain, Dau Tieng reservoir, Truc stream in Dau Tieng district…

Along with the development potential of eco-tourism, Binh Duong is well-known with traditional craft villages on lacquer, pottery, wood sculpture, bamboo and rattan. The province also owns a lot of tourism sites on spiritual culture, modern entertainment areas…at tourists’ needs. In the first half of 2016, the whole province welcomed around 2.6 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 30%.

Mr.No added that the above results came from the province’s efforts in facilitating travel units’ development. The province also attached special importance to human resource training, contributing to raising the quality of the local tourism products.
