Binh Duong spends resources on digital transformation

On the afternoon of October 3, Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications and specialized agencies of the ministry had a working session with Binh Duong province’s delegation, led by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation in Hanoi. Accompanying the delegation was Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

At the working session, Binh Duong province proposed the Ministry of Information and Communications to support resources to promote digital transformation for enterprises; support Becamex IDC to set up documents and complete the digital platform of smart industrial park to be recognized; support training and retraining resources on digital technology for workers at least 1 hour/week for about 1.2 million workers in industrial parks...

Mr. Loi said that Binh Duong province has spent a lot of resources on digital transformation; prepared many conditions to continue investing in 3 pillars of digital community, including: digital government, digital economy and digital society. The province is implementing an investment policy in the local Traffic and Security Control Center. In addition, the province is interested in investing in 5G network for the local Administrative Center to facilitate the task of handling administrative procedures for people and enterprises.

Mr. Loi hopes that in the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will support the province and give opinions, appraisals on investment technology to achieve the highest efficiency; guide the province to continue perfecting criteria to improve the province's evaluation indexes on digital tranformation to achieve comprehensive and better results in the coming time.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Hung acquired opinions and suggestions from Binh Duong province while saying that the Ministry of Information and Communications is setting up a "handbook" to specifically guide localities, including Binh Duong province, on what to do, how to do it and when to fulfill it so that localities are more proactive in investment and development. He also noted that the ministry's specialized agencies should acknowledge proposals by Binh Duong province, thereby providing specific instructions to support the province in digital transformation...

It is known that Binh Duong currently has about 65,000 enterprises, including more than 45,000 in use of  digital platforms and more than 1,300 with 55,722 employees providing and trading electricity, electronics, information technology and digital technology.
