At the Vietnam Automation Exhibition 2024 and the Electricity and Energy Exhibition 2024 held in Binh Duong recently, Mr. Lee Dong Ki, Chairman of COEX Company of Korea, said that the smart factory and automation market in Vietnam has an average annual growth rate of over 13%, in line with the digital transformation policy and the strategy of modernizing Vietnam's manufacturing industry. Particularly in Binh Duong, the demand for factory automation and smart factory technology is increasing sharply.
Binh Duong is prioritizing the development of science, technology, and innovation to attract investors in industries that emphasize high scientific and technological content, high added value, and low environmental impact. According to the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, Binh Duong plans to promote automation in manufacturing industries in the near future. During a recent working trip to the Federal Republic of Germany, the provincial delegation led by Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited Innovation Lab, BioLabs - a successful model of Heidelberg city and listened to a presentation on the Science - Technology Park (including the High-tech Innovation Park). These are examples and practical experiences for Binh Duong in the development of science, technology, and innovation. Here, a number of companies from the Fraunhofer ENAS Institute shared about high-tech products and trends in automation and semiconductor manufacturing. On this occasion, Becamex IDC Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fraunhofer ENAS Institute on establishing an R&D Center for Microelectronics and Intelligent Systems according to the ENAS model in Binh Duong.
The province is currently focused on expanding and upgrading existing industrial parks while also developing new ones to attract foreign investment. The emphasis is on creating green, smart industrial parks capable of utilizing a 4.0 technology platform. This will help investors quickly and effectively implement smart factory models and enhance production, ultimately contributing to improved labor productivity.
