Binh Duong strengthens measures of energy thrift

Owing to prolong drought on a large scale, water output pouring into hydro-electric reservoirs is very low, causing shortage of electricity. Therefore, Binh Duong Electricity in cooperation with the local Department of Trade and Industry has launched measures of electricity thrift under the Government instruction.

To reach efficiency of electricity thrift, Binh Duong Electricity launched measures of electricity thrift for its clients. Besides, the local Department of Trade and Industry has set out measures of using electricity safely and thriftily for local residents and collaborated with authorities at all levels to promulgate measures of electricity thrift on media.

 

Advanced equipments will help businesses save electricity.

In addition, the department has instructed local agencies and sectors to cut at least 10% of power consumption in line with Circular 111 on electricity thrift.

The department has monitored electricity thrift at 5 typical businesses in pursue of guiding and counseling measures of electricity thrift for the enterprises. As a result, the businesses saved over 10% of power output monthly. Besides, the department and Binh Duong Electricity have jointly supervised clients with high demand of power usage.

Chau Quoc Bao, head of Binh Duong Electricity’s Business Department, said the sector monthly monitors output of electricity usage and sends results of power usage quarterly to central and local agencies, units. 

Work of propagation is one of solutions concerned by Binh Duong Electricity. Aside from promulgation of electricity thrift on media, the unit has printed contents of promulgation on electricity bills and offered and replaced over 22,000 compact light bulbs for poor and sub-poor households free of charge.

In the first 5 months of this year, the entire province saved over 27.7mil Kwh, winning 44.58% of yearly plan. Of this, industrial production economized over 18.7mil kWh, public lighting saved over 2.1mil kWh and administration and business units saved over 758,000kWh.

Most of electricity users are aware of electricity thrift. However, owing to shortage of capital for technological innovation, many businesses have yet to implement energy auditing.
