Early July 6, an inspection delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), led by Trinh Quoc Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, had a working session with provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), Southern Power Corporation, Binh Duong Power Company to check the observance of the law on economical and efficient use of energy in in 2022.

Reporting to the inspection delegation, representative of provincial DoIT said that under the Prime Minister’s Directive 20/CT-TTg on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2020-2025 in the province, the department has submitted an annual plan on economical and efficient use of energy to provincial People's Committee; advised provincial People's Committee on issuing decisions, directives and official documents on electricity supply and use, ensuring the safety of electricity works during the rainy and stormy season and safe and economical use of electricity during the dry season.
Provincial DoIT strives to reduce power loss below 2.8% by 2025. The department will also cooperate with Binh Duong Power Company to promote communication activities to raise awareness, attract the attention and response of the people and the community on electricity saving and safety via campaigns, namely “Earth Hour”, “Family saving electricity”, “Energy saving contest in schools”, “World Environment Day (June 5)...

At the working session, provincial DoIT proposed the inter-Ministry of Finance- Industry and Trade to issue detailed guidance documents on the implementation of support contents, forms, incentive mechanisms to encourage the economical and efficient use of energy for production, manufacturing, renovation and market transformation of means, equipment, machinery, production lines and energy saving in households... For rooftop solar power, provincial DoIT suggested the inter-Ministry of Finance- Industry and Trade to soon consider and provide guidance on synchronous implementation of the legal, technical, and operational order and procedures for rooftop solar power systems; do not sell electricity to the Vietnam Electricity Group so that the electricity sector has enough legal bases to agree to indirectly connect rooftop solar power systems to the national power grid...
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Vu recorded petitions by Binh Duong province and will submit them to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for consideration and settlement while suggesting the province to further promote achieved results, especially in the management of key energy-using enterprises; fully implement energy audit reports at units…
