Sustainable growth of investment and export

Over the informative years, Binh Duong has become the country’s leading advantaged investment climate. With the advantaged position, synchronous and modern infrastructure facility plus transparent policies, Binh Duong has lured a large number of investors and businesses inside and outside the country.

In 2013, the province absorbed US$1.4bil in FDI capital, lifting the total FDI projects in the locality up to 2,209 with the total capital of $19bil. Binh Duong in the past year attracted nearly VND15,000bil in the local investment capital, totaling investment capital to VND117,000bil. Along with investment projects, especially FDI projects, application high technology into production has been focused. At present, Binh Duong has lured many hi-tech investment projects from all over the world.

Aside from the strong capacity of investment attraction, Binh Duong has gained a high growth of export. In 2013 alone, the local export gained a 15.7% increase with the total export turnover of over $14bil. The staple export items included apparel, footwear, handicraft, rubber, electronics and so on. Besides, trade field was developed strongly through forming up many trade centers and supermarkets such as Co.opMart, Metro, Big C, Lotte Mart and many more. In 2013, the local total retail value was at VND89,544bil, a 24.3% increase from the same period last year.

Thanks to well growth of investment and export and trade, local GDP was maintained at a high rate. In 2013, despite difficulties in economy, local GDP was still at 12.8%, higher than the set plan (12.5%) and double the whole country’s growth rate (5.42%).

The impressive figures of investment, export, trade, tech-science, GDP growth and budget collection and so on showed Binh Duong’s ability of economic integration. These elements reflected clearly on Binh Duong’s third position in integration ability in the newly-announced report of the National Committee for International Economic Integration.

Gathering of migrant laborers and tourists

Factors of migrant workforce and tourism showed obviously Binh Duong’s integration ability. As a dynamic environment, Binh Duong has long become a promised land, gathering migrant laborers and tourists. The province has lured a large number of investors, experts, entrepreneurs, scientists from over the world and about 700,000 immigrant laborers, accounting for a half of local population.

As for tourism culture, Binh Duong was part of Gia Dinh of yore and now has over 300 years of history with unique cultural heritages such as don ca tai tu. Moreover, Binh Duong has been the land of traditional craft villages.

In addition, the province has gathered many big cultural and credent festivals of Lady Temple festival and fruit festival. Especially, the locality has had fame landscapes of Iron Triangle Tunnel, Cau Mountain, Dau Tieng reservoir, D war base, Phu Loi Jail, Hoi Khanh Temple and ancient houses and so on.

With the traditional culture and history, Binh Duong has had many advantages for developing forms of tourism. Additionally, Binh Duong has emerged many tourism and relaxation sites. All of these factors have helped the locality lure numerous tourists inside and outside of the country.

Results of the report of integration ability at localities help localities and businesses assess their ability to make the effort for a further prosperous development.
