This is the goal in the overall development project of Binh Duong province’s health sector to 2030. Accordingly, it is forecasted that by 2030, the province's population will reach over 3.5 million people. To ensure public healthcare, the province needs to invest in building at least 5,000 hospital beds and need 1,900 doctors.

To achieve the above goal, the province is building a 1,500-bed general hospital into the central one, the last line of the Southeast region with practical functions for medical and pharmaceutical schools in and out of the province. On that basis, the hospital focuses on developing specialties in cardiology, orthopedic trauma, oncology, geriatrics and surgery. The old facility of provincial General Hospital on Pham Ngoc Thach street, Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city has also established a maternity hospital and merged a reproductive healthcare center into the hospital while setting up a hospital for children. The local healthcare sector has also merged the Rehabilitation Hospital into provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital; merged provincial Center for Occupational Health and Environment into provincial Center for Disease Control and established an outpatient emergency center.
