Binh Duong Veterans deserve title of Uncle Ho's soldiers

Promoting tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, through emulation movement of exemplary veterans, the provincial Veterans' Society mobilizes members to join positively in movements of socio-economic development, contributing to build Binh Duong into a civilized and prosperous homeland.

Local veterans always volunteer in movements

Realizing importance and significance of this emulation movement, the provincial Veterans' Society at all levels actively grasp, launch signing of emulation agreements to every branch and member through the theme of "hi-unity, good emulation and soon finish". Contents of emulation agreements are very detailed, significant and close to requirements, tasks in conformity with every branches.

Though this movement, as many as 13,926 members of the provincial Veterans' Society win the title of exemplary veterans, accounting for 98.77%.

Le Minh Xuan, vice chairman of the provincial Veterans' Society said "the society always considers the movement of exemplary veterans as an impetus for completing the entrusted tasks; building, reinforcing the society in a stronger organization; promoting tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers".

Over the past time, the society is always paid much attention by the party committee, authority, sector and mass body at all levels. In addition, the society's cadres and members are aware of revolutionary spirit, effort to complete their missions.

One of the society's important tasks is to build and protect the Party, authority, socialism regime, people and the national great unity bloc; maintain politics, social order and safety. Over the past years, cadres and members join positively and well complete these tasks.

At present, the society has 4,324 veterans participating in work on mass body, authority and Party organization with the rate of 29.97% compared with the total members. Veterans holding leadership positions promote characters and traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers, leading in local movements and being trusted by mass bodies, authorities and people.

The society's branches assign cadres to join in mediation teams and councils at grassroot level. Accordingly, members hold 9,515 mediation cases, contributing to maintain local security. Moreover, cadres and members often contribute good ideas to the Party building, disseminate and educate youths about goals, revolutionary ideals, patriotic tradition and more.

Making efforts to join emulation movements

In the emulation movements, the society's branches mobilize to set up support funds to help needy members. Therefore, members' annual income increases strongly and their life is improve significantly, declining the number of poor households and increasing the number of rich families.

Over the past 5 years, 355 veteran households escape poverty. Until now, the number of fair and rich households accounts for more than 70% while the number of poor families amounts 0.069% and the number of sub-poor families at 1.03%. At branches of this society, there are many example of good veterans in production and business. They include veteran Nguyen Huu Van in Phuoc Hoa commune, Phu Giao district, veteran Doan Cong Hieu in Lai Uyen commune, Bau Bang district, veteran Doan Minh Chien in Tan Dinh, North Tan Uyen district, veteran Vo Hieu Trung in An Son commune, Thuan An town and more.

Over the past time, the provincial Veterans' Society at all levels encourage members to join positively in movements, concerted programs, mobilizations such as all people protect the national security, Vietnamese gives priorities to use Vietnamese goods, All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas and more.

Through these movements and models, many effective models are emerged such as club for crime control, club for lodging houses' proprietors, self-control teams and among others. In the movement of building new rural areas, veterans donate their land and asset to repair and build more than 40km of rural roads, dredging canals and build bridges and dikes and more.

Promoting tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, through the emulation movement of exemplary veterans, the provincial Veterans' Society urges members to take part in local movements of socio-economic development, contributing to build a civilized and prosperous Binh Duong land.

Le Minh Xuan added that the society at all levels will continue to spur the emulation movement of exemplary veterans, excel the Party's Resolutions and local tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security and more.
