At the working session, Mr. Loi respectfully thanked contributions by Japanese partners, including JICA,  to the local industrial-service-urban development. He said that the need for infrastructure investment, especially in inter-regional traffic infrastructure in Binh Duong is very large. Binh Duong is promoting the implementation of 3 projects, including the bus rapid transit (BRT) project connecting Binh Duong new city with Suoi Tien in Ho Chi Minh city; the metro urban railway project from Binh Duong new city to Suoi Tien; the industrial railway project connecting Binh Duong to Thi Vai and Cai Mep seaports. These projects will create a premise for the province to develop comprehensive logistics and TOD, opening up new development spaces for Binh Duong province. In 2023, the province will focus on site clearance to implement key projects; negotiate with international credit institutions, JICA and mobilize many domestic resources to implement engineering construction projects.

Provincial Party Committee Secretary hoped that on the basis of the fine cooperative relationship between Vietnam - Japan as well as the close cooperation between Binh Duong province and JICA over the past time, in the coming time, Binh Duong will further receive the attention and support of JICA to accelerate the progress of traffic infrastructure construction projects connecting airports, seaports and regional links. He affirmed that the province has effectively used official development assistance (ODA) capital with the highest quality.

Mr. Shimizu Akira said that JICA has strongly supported the proposals and recommendations of Binh Duong province for urban and traffic development projects in the province and will coordinate with Binh Duong to organize specific working sessions to set up plans to implement projects as soon as possible. Particularly, the BRT project in Binh Duong has so far entered the final stage of JICA's ODA negotiation process.
