On the afternoon of March 22, Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee received Shimizu Akira, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Vietnam Office on the occasion of ending his term of office.
At the reception, Mr. Minh acknowledged and spoke highly of the support of the Japanese Government, including JICA, as well as the efforts and contributions by Mr. Shimizu Akira in promoting cooperation between Japan and Vietnam, including Binh Duong province. Provincial People's Committee Chairman thanked Mr. Shimizu Akira for actively supporting the province over the past time while wishing him much success in his new position.
Mr. Shimizu Akira thanked provincial leaders for always accompanying and supporting him during his working term in Vietnam. Despite facing many challenges from Covid-19 pandemic as well as some problems from transport infrastructure projects, provincial leaders have always supported and cooperated with the JICA in solving difficulties. He added that 2023 is a special year when Japan - Vietnam celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and key cooperation projects in the province are entering the peak stage. Therefore, he wanted to further receive the attention and support of provincial leaders so that the projects are implemented as planned. Periodic dialogues between JICA Vietnam Office and provincial leaders will continue being organized, contributing to solving obstacles as well as getting more opportunities for the two sides to learn and implement new cooperation programs.
At the reception, Mr. Shimizu Akira also introduced Mr. Sugano Yuichi, New Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office to provincial leaders.
Mr. Minh said Binh Duong will further coordinate with Mr. Sugano Yuichi and JICA Vietnam Office to complete the cooperation projects between the two sides being implemented in the province; reach unanimity on a regular exchange mechanism and closely coordinate with JICA while wanting that the two sides will have more effective cooperation programs in many fields in the coming time.
