Binh Duong wins 3 gold medals, 1 bronze medal at 4th Southeast Asian Karatedo Champs

Late April 5, Doan Quoc Tuan, Head of Karatedo Department under provincial Physical Training and Sports Center said that Binh Duong won three gold medals at the 4th Southeast Asian Karatedo Championships which has just concluded in Laos.

Particularly, Nguyen Thanh Duy grasped a gold medal in the 60kg-weight category after defeating his Malaysian rival with 3-1 score. The remaining two gold medals went to Tran Pham Viet Thong and Nguyen Minh Phung in the 67kg and 84kg-weight categories, respectively. Athletes of Binh Duong also contributed to a silver medal of Vietnamese Karatedo team in the men’s team event at the tournament.

With 12 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze medals, Vietnamese Karatedo team topped the tournament. It was followed by Thailand with 6 gold, 13 silver and 8 bronze medals.
