Binh Duong wins 3 gold medals at national Vovinam champs

The 2017 National Vovinam Championships kicked off at provincial Sports and Physical Training Center’s Sporting Event Hall on the evening of October 25, with the participation of nearly 400 athletes representing 31 provinces and cities nationwide.

Running from October 25 to 30, the tournament is co-held by the Vietnam Vovinam Federation, the National General Administration of Sports and Physical Training and provincial Vovinam Federation. At the tournament, participating athletes will compete for 48 sets of medals for performance and combat events.

The host team Binh Duong had excellent performance on the first competition day. Particularly, Ho Thanh Liem, Pham Truong Sa and Duy Son won 3 gold medals in the men’s 52kg, 68kg and 77kg-weight categories, respectively.

With the above achievements, Binh Duong and HCM city now lead in the medal tally.
