Binh Duong wins great victory at southeastern open youth Chinese chess tournament 2012

After three days of fierce competition, the Southeastern Open Youth Chinese Chess Tournament 2012 successfully closed at the Lac Canh Dai Nam Van Hien in Binh Duong province’s TDM town.

 

According to Do Nguyen Thanh, head coach of Binh Duong Chinese chess team, the results of the tournament have nearly exactly reflected the ability and preparation of participating teams.

 

International Grand Master Dao Thien Hai said that Chinese chess tournaments that were well organized like the Southeastern Open Youth Chinese Chess Tournament 2012 will be a good chance for young chess players to raise their ability in this field.

 

As predicted, with good preparation, the host team Binh Duong won great victory at the tournament. Particularly, Nguyen Thanh Vuong Phu Quang (U7), Huynh Thanh Thy (U9), Vo Mai Truc (U11), Tao Minh Giang (U13) grasped gold medals in the event of blitz chess. Binh Duong also pocketed three gold medals in the team event of standard chess in age groups of U7 (N.T.V.Phu Quang-Tran Quoc Viet), U11 (Vo Mai Truc-Ho Chau Bao Tram) and province’s female team Do Huu Thuy Trang-Do Hoang Minh Tho.

 

In the blitz event, Binh Duong won silver medals in age group of U7 (N.T.V. Phu Quang) and province’s female team (Mai Thien Kim Ngoc Diep). Thus, Binh Duong pocketed a total of 9 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 7 bronze medals at the tournament.

 

For other events, gold medals belonged to Bui Ngoc Phuong Nghi, U7, from Long An; Hua Truong Kha, U9, from Dong Nai; Vo Kim Cang, U11, from HCM city; Le Dinh Nguyen Anh, U13, from Ba Ria-Vung Tau; Tran Nguyen Que Huong, U15, from HCM city; Doan Thien Thanh, U15, from Ba Ria-Vung Tau…

 

In the team event of standard chess, Hua Nguyen Gia Han-Tran Phuong Thanh Ha, U7, from Dong Nai; Nguyen Bao Tam-Tran Le Ha Trang, U9, from Ba Ria-Vung Tau; Hua Truong Kha-Tran Hoang Dai Son, U9, from Dong Nai grasped golden medals. In age groups of U11, U13 and U15, gold medals went to Dang Hoang Vinh Duy from HCM city, Tran Phan Bao Khanh-Hoang Minh Thu from HCM city, Le Dinh Nguyen Anh-Tran Thuan Phat from Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Nguyen Thanh Thuy-Nguyen Van Uyen Nhi from Dong Nai, Doan Thien Thanh-Doan Khoi Nguyen from Ba Ria-Vung Tau…

 

Meanwhile, in the individual event of blitz chess, the remaining gold medals went to players of Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, HCM city’s Tan Binh, Dong Nai, Lam Dong.

 

The tournament absorbed 236 chess players from 14 units in the provinces and cities in and out of the southeastern region, including HCM city, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Long An, Binh Phuoc, Lam Dong, Binh Duong…at the tournament, participants competed in the two events of blitz chess and standard chess.
