Solo performance by the workers of the grassroots union of Rochdale Spears Co. Ltd.
Exciting and joyful
At the weekend, a large number of workers gathered at Binh Duong provincial Labor and Culture Center to participate in the Binh Duong Workers' Singing Contest 2022. Some people wore beautiful costumes to compete on stage while others still had their uniforms right after the working shift to cheer their colleagues. Many members of the Executive Committee of grassroots trade unions of companies were present very early to prepare banners, banners, hats, flowers, etc. for union members to cheer their beloved art team.
Holding the banners of "Calm, confident, and determined to win", "Work hard, play hard", "Explode, crush challenges", fans of Rochdale Spears Co. Ltd. in Thuan An city made the atmosphere of the contest always fun. The enthusiastic cheering of the grassroots trade unions participating in the contest brought a lively and exciting competition atmosphere to the contestants and viewers. Therefore, the contest entries were also airy and warm, somewhat satisfying the demand for artistic playground after the "new normal".
Musician Ngo Pham Toan, a lecturer at the Faculty of Industry and Culture under Thu Dau Mot University and a member of the examiners, said that this year, many contestants had very good voices. This year's contest expanded to include more musical genres including bolero, neoclassical music and elective repertoires, so workers had more choices to show off their singing abilities. Many contestants are invested with very good costumes, props, and music. Hopefully, the more thoughtful investment in staging and training of the grassroots Trade Unions, the workers would shine more brightly on stage, bringing many unexpected results in the next rounds of the contest.
More bonding joy added
The duet in the neoclassical performance was very shy for the first time performing in front of a large crowd, so they received very warm cheers from the fans whenever they forgot the lyrics. However, they also conveyed many emotions to the audience about their passion for Tai Tu Music. Talking to us after the contest, Ms. Danh Thi Xa Dal, a native of Can Tho city and a worker at Vietnam Plastics Co. Ltd. in Thu Dau Mot city said that when she heard the announcement about the contest, she quickly registered for the contest because it has been a long time since there had been such a fun playground. Xa Dal was very fond of Tai Tu Music and wanted to bring the music specialties of the Southwest region to the contest. Due to the continuous social distancing, she did not have much time to practice to overcome the shy in front of the crowd, so she did not complete the song.
In the performance of Ca phe miet vuon (coffee in the countryside), the duo's simple lyrics and performance style added fun to the second night of the competition. Seeing them perform joyfully on such a stage, few people know that they were once infected by COVID-19 and had been struggling hard at work. Ms. Nguyen Kim Hong, a worker at Rochdale Spears Co. Ltd., said that she and her colleagues practiced the performance in the evenings at the company. In addition to this performance, Ms. Hong also participated in illustrative dance for the group and solo performances of her colleagues.
Ms. Tong My Chau, Women's Department of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Rochdale Spears Co. Ltd. said: "To energize the performance team, the unit has arranged a hall for us to practice every night and was counted according to the overtime diet to be nourished with food to improve health. We will continue to support and encourage more so that the selected performances in the next round will become more and more quality and brighter."
