As part of the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, provincial Youth Union has launched the campaign of “Pink Holiday – The Journey of Binh Duong Youth for National Sea and Islands” to spread the spirit of compassion, community service and the heartfelt affection of young people for their homeland.

Ideals in heart

The 2025 campaign of “Pink Holiday – The Journey of Binh Duong Youth for National Sea and Islands” was held on Con Co island, Quang Tri province, as a meaningful tribute to military personnel and residents in remote island regions. During the program, provincial Youth Union presented gifts and infrastructure works worth over VND 100 million, including 20 welfare gift sets worth VND 20 million for people and soldiers with difficult circumstances; the project of “Youth Flower Road – Greening the Pearl Island” worth VND 30 million and the “National Flag Road” with 200 red flags bearing the yellow star worth VND 20 million. In addition, the campaign featured cultural exchanges with Quang Tri provincial Youth Union and Con Co Border Guard Station, creating a warm atmosphere of the North-South solidarity.

As part of the journey, Binh Duong’s delegation also joined Quang Tri provincial Youth Union in a “Back to the Roots” tour, visiting historical sites in the heroic land of Quang Tri. Activities included a flag salute ceremony at the 17th Parallel - Hien Luong Bridge - Ben Hai River; flower and incense offerings at Quang Tri Citadel; a visit to the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery and a tour of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue, where preserves valuable artifacts, documents and images from President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career.

This journey was not only a volunteer activity, but also a tribute from Binh Duong youth to the heroes and martyrs of the nation, expressing their deep patriotism and devotion to the country’s sea and islands. The journey embodies the spirit of continuing the revolutionary flame of our ancestors; nurturing the ideals of the younger generation, their passion and their aspiration to build and protect the country through concrete and practical actions.

Mark of volunteer

From June 2 to 8, the “Pink Holiday – Green Summer” campaign and the “Journey of Binh Duong Youth for National Sea and Islands” also took place vibrantly on Phu Quy island in Binh Thuan province. Immediately arriving in Phu Quy Island, the volunteer youth team organized a memorial incense offering ceremony at Phu Quy district’d Martyrs’ Temple to express their gratitude for the sacrifices of past generations who gave their lives for national independence. Continuing the activities on the first day of the journey, the team carried out the program of “Together with Fishermen to Protect the Sea” by collecting waste and cleaning the beaches around the port area and coastal routes, contributing to raising awareness of protecting the environment and preserving the island’s natural landscape. On Phu Quy island, the team implemented several key projects such as donating the “Youth Security Lighting Road”, establishing another “National Flag Road”, distributing 50 gift sets to local fishermen, policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged children; organizing the “Young Doctors Following Uncle Ho's Teachings” medical program offering free check-ups and medicine to residents; hosting summer activities for students in three local primary schools and preparing 200 meals in the “Cooking for Children” program.

During the days of participating in the journey and immersing themselves in the lives of the island’s residents, the volunteer youth members deepened their love for the homeland and trained themselves to live more positively, guided by empathy and compassion. The program also spread a strong message—showcasing the image of youth embodying the spirit of dedication, volunteerism and service to the community and the beloved sea and islands of the homeland.

“The journey of ‘Binh Duong Youth for National Sea and Islands’ is not only a volunteer activity, but also an expression of gratitude and a continuation of the patriotic flame passed down through generations. It serves to educate the younger generation on patriotism, a sense of responsibility and national pride. This journey is ignited by the burning desire of Binh Duong’s youth to contribute—stretching from the mainland to the island regions, from the rear to the frontline, thereby further deepening love for the homeland, continuously spreading unity and lighting up ideals in the hearts of today’s young people”. (Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of provincial Youth Union).
