Binh Duong Youth performs many gratitude activities

Visiting, giving gifts, medical examination and free medicine to heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors; renovating martyrs 'cemeteries, visiting martyrs' cemeteries... are practical and regular activities of Binh Duong youth expressing their gratitude to policy families and people who have made great contributions to the revolution.

The youth express gratitude...

To be deeply aware of the young generation’s responsibilities, provincial Youth Union and branches in the province have integrated "gratitude" activities into all programs and activities, such as youth month, summer youth voluntary campaign, voluntary spring... Thereby, contributing to stabilizing the lives of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of fallen heroes, revolutionary contributors, soothing their pain and losses.

Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of Provincial Youth Union, said that to celebrate the 70th anniversary of War Invalids - Martyrs Day (27 July), provincial Youth Union has been directed from provincial level to grassroots level to launch many meaningful programs of "Drinking water, remember its source". In particular, the peak is the journey named "Following footsteps of heroes" at Doan Thi Lien Park (Chanh Phu Hoa Ward, Ben Cat Town). After the launching ceremony will be the inauguration of "Flower garden of the youth following Uncle Ho", present park benches and repair nameboard of Doan Thi Lien Park; organize for youth union members to participate cleaning up activities at Doan Thi Lien Park and to visit and give gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers...

This year, the 70th anniversary of War Invalids-Martyrs Day is also the year of Youth Union Congress at all levels, Provincial Youth Union has directed branches to enhance emulation movements to welcome the congress  and carry out additional activities such as: visits to families of former youth union cadres with relatives who are war invalids and martyrs; youth union cadres are war invalids and policy families in Thu Dau Mot Town, Thuan An Town, Tan Uyen Town, Ben Cat District, Dau Tieng District. In particular, the delegation visited martyr Doan Thi Lien’s family (in Chanh Phu Hoa ward, Ben Cat Town) and family of army hero Ho Van Men (in An Thanh ward, Thuan An Town)...

Joining hands for gratitude activities

As part of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of  War Invalids-Martyrs Day, Youth units in the province have simultaneously carried out journeys of returning to the root to express gratitude to policy families. For example, the week of "Paying debt of gratitude", "Drinking water remember its source", specifically as: gathering youth members to actively participate in activities of taking care of Vietnamese heroic mothers; visiting, giving gifts to family of wounded soldiers, relatives of fallen heroes, revolutionary contributors; providing medical examination, free medicine for war invalids, sick soldiers, policy families, poor families; cleaning up, renovating monuments, temples, memorial stoneworks of heroic martyrs in the locality.

Youth Union of Vinh Phu Ward (Thuan An Town) carried out a program named "Working living eating together" with revolutionary families. Here, youth union members cleaned up houses, gardens; went to market and cooked family meal, talked with policy families about heroic history. Huynh Thi Ri, family of revolutionary contributor, said: "I was like to revive the years of my youth, when looking at the eyes of young people, looking at they taking care of me like my children, I was really happy”.

In order to respond to the 70th anniversary of War Invalids-Martyrs Day, Youth Union of Provincial Inspectorate also organized a trip returning to the source at the historical site Duc Thanh school and Phu Quy district of Binh Thuan province. The trip was to raise young ones’ awareness, urge the young generation to strive more in study, as well as in work, contribute to the well performing professional and political tasks of the agency.

Expressing gratitude of youth to the older generation, on this occasion, students in the province also have practical and meaningful activities turning towards policy families, such as visiting, giving gifts, cleaning up houses...

Nguyen Phuong Hong Phuc, a student of Thu Dau Mot University, said that she was proud to have a mother who is a veteran had lived and fought to regain national independence and freedom. On this day, everyone in the family and her comrades always gather together, tell stories about a heroic time. To pay homage to revolutionary contributors, on this occasion, she and her friends visit and take care of local policy families. This activity is maintained regularly to raise awareness, patriotism, as well as the care for the community and revolutionary contributors.

Tran Dang Nguyen, student of Ngo Thoi Nhiem High School in Thu Dau Mot city, expressed: At school, they were ideologically educated by teachers. On 27th of July, teachers told stories about the fight against foreign invaders; thereby, contributing to cultivating patriotism of each student. The younger generation today always remember and express the spirit of "Drinking water remember the source" through the visits, giving gifts to contributors, heroic Vietnamese mothers...

It is impossible to mention all meaningful gratitude works of Binh Duong youth. These practical actions have contributed to caring, paying tribute to policy families; at the same time, educating the young generation on living compassionately, respecting noble values ​​of the past for a better future.
