Binh Duong youth towards national border areas

As part of the Youth Month 2025, the youth of Binh Duong have launched a series of meaningful and practical activities aimed at supporting people and soldiers stationed at the nation’s frontlines. From awarding scholarships and providing free medical check-ups to implementing youth-led projects, these efforts not only improve living conditions, but also strengthen the bond between the military and civilians  while affirming the pioneering role of young people in the mission of national defense.

Volunteering for the community

In response to the “March to the Border” program in 2025 under the theme of “Youth Volunteering for Community Life”, provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Youth Unions of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces to organize a range of meaningful activities supporting border residents in Ia Lop and Ia R’ve communes, Ea Sup border district, Dak Lak province. During the program, Binh Duong provincial Youth Union delivered youth-initiated projects and support with a total value of VND 400 million. These efforts included gifts for policy beneficiary families, heroic Vietnamese mothers and border guard soldiers; warm clothing for disadvantaged residents; free medical check-ups and medicine distribution; scholarships for children with difficult circumstances; the donation of community facilities such as a public sports area, a “Lighting up the Border” project and a welcome gate for Ia Lop commune. The delegation also visited to offer incense at the Memorial Site for Fallen Soldiers, learned about the history of milestone number 41, visited and gave gifts for officers and soldiers at the Ea H’Leo Border Guard Station.

Binh Duong provincial Youth Union pays a gift visit to a heroic Vietnamese mother in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak

In Ia R’ve commune, the delegation visited and presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, laid flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh and delivered gifts to four families of border guards in difficult circumstances who are currently serving along the border. They also organized cultural and sports exchange activities with officers and soldiers at the Ia R’ve Border Guard Station.

Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of provincial Youth Union and Chairwoman of provincial Youth Federation stated: “Through these activities, we aim at raising awareness and nurturing ideals of national sovereignty and border protection among Youth Union members; promoting their voluntary spirit in socio-economic development; caring for officers, soldiers, people and children in border areas”.

Beyond Dak Lak, provincial Youth Unions at all levels implemented meaningful activities in other border provinces. For instance, the Youth Union of Phu Cuong ward in Thu Dau Mot city, in coordination with MEDIC Binh Duong General Hospital, provided free medical check-ups, medicine and reading glasses for 200 people in Bu Dop district, Binh Phuoc province. They also donated 1,000 notebooks through the “White Notebooks for Children” program, a “Green Library”, 15 scholarships for disadvantaged students at Tan Tien Primary School and a “Border Light” youth project at Tan Thanh Border Guard Station.

Strengthening bonds of solidarity

In addition to social activities, Binh Duong’s youth have implemented numerous youth-led projects to support the livelihoods of people living in border areas, thereby contributing to the protection of national sovereignty. A notable example is the “March to the Border” campaign organized by Ben Cat city’s Youth Union and Youth Federation in Bu Dop district, Binh Phuoc province. During the campaign, the delegation carried out meaningful initiatives such as delivering the “Border Light” youth project in Tan Thanh commune, visiting and donating a “Motorbike Shelter for Soldiers” to officers and soldiers at Hoang Dieu International Border Gate Border Guard Station and presenting gifts to disadvantaged residents in Hung Phuoc commune, Bu Dop district. On this occasion, the delegation also visited and performed the "Saluting the Milestone" ceremony at Border Milestone No. 65 (2) at Hoang Dieu International Border Gate where the officers of the Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station introduced the process of formation, construction and the historical significance of the border milestone.

Nguyen Thanh Phu, Secretary of Ben Cat city’s Youth Union stated: “The ‘March to the Border’ journey is organized to promote the implementation of movements like ‘I Love My Homeland’ and ‘I Love Binh Duong’. It is also an opportunity for Youth Union and Youth Federation members in Ben Cat city to demonstrate their voluntary spirit in contributing to socio-economic development and national defense. Through meaningful and practical activities in border areas, the program expresses patriotism and strengthens the bond between youth, officers, soldiers and local people living and working in the frontier regions of our country”.

Through these meaningful activities within the “March to the Border” program, Binh Duong's youth not only showcased their volunteer spirit and community services, but also expressed responsibility, patriotism and unity. The youth-led projects and contributions have improved the living conditions of people in border areas and fostered a strong bond between the military and people.

Together with young people from other localities in the province, the Youth Union and Youth Federation of North Tan Uyen District, in coordination with the Youth Unions of Hieu Liem, Dat Cuoc and An Lap communes in Dau Tieng district, organized the “March to the Border” program in Tien Thuan commune, Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province. During the event, the delegation presented 40 gifts worth VND 16 million to children; donated 30 national flags to the border checkpoint in Tien Thuan commune; presented 6 solar-powered lights worth VND 9 million. The group also hosted a playground for children, set up a “Zero-dong Clothing Stall”, visited Border Landmark 170, presented gifts to Tien Thuan communal militia outpost and border guard station.
