Acting to one’s competence

In recent days, Thu Dau Mot city's Youth Union has launched a campaign for children to write letters and draw pictures to encourage the people in the North and the soldiers on duty. At the same time, schools in the province have also organized activities to contribute and support the people in the North to quickly overcome the consequences left by the catastrophic typhoon.

In the letter sent to our fellow countrymen in the North, Pham Ngoc Hai My of Class 6A5 in Chu Van An Secondary School, wrote: “Binh Duong provincial Children's House, where I participate, did not organize a festive Mid-Autumn, but instead organized a donation drive and support event with our hearts directed towards the North. I would like to contribute a small amount of money to our fellow countrymen in the North. I hope that our fellow countrymen in the North would overcome their hard time. Keep going! We in the South are sending our love to you.”

At the point of receiving essential supplies to support the people in the North at the Social Housing Area (Block 1, Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City), a touching story about little girl Phan Thien An, a student of Class 2/4 at Hoa Phu Primary School was told. With a stack of loose change worth VND 350,000 in hand and 2 boxes of milk that she saved up to give to the children in the northern region on hearing that they were experiencing hunger and cold in recent days, An said: "In the past few days, I have been watching news about Yagi typhoon, and my mother told me about the damages caused by the typhoon to the provinces in the northern region. I took the money that I had saved to help the children in the flooded areas, hoping that they can overcome the time of adversity."

The humane actions and the hand-writing letters with heartfelt words, simple and plain but emotional, of the children were sent to the children and people in the North who are suffering from losses and sorrows caused by natural disasters, storms and floods.

For the beloved nation of land in the North

After the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee issued a letter calling on youth union members and young people in the province to join hands in helping the people in the North overcome the consequences of Yagi typhoon, various youth organizations in the province showed solidarity demonstrating the spirit of helping for the North.

Deeply saddened by the losses suffered by our fellow countrymen in the northern provinces, with a compassionate heart, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Trung, the Chairman of the Golden Heart Connection Club (Dau Tieng Youth Union), could not stand idly by. Through the social media platform Facebook, he has connected local children and kind-hearted individuals to support our compatriots in the North. Up to this point, he has raised nearly 80 million VND and a significant amount of essential supplies.

Trung said: "On September 16, the charity group departs to Yen Binh commune, Yen Thanh district, Yen Bai province to distribute cash and essential supplies to the local people, with a total of 2 trucks weighing 15 tons. All contributions from kind-hearted individuals will be recorded and publicly disclosed by the club. We always appreciate the kindness of local philanthropists and youth. Hopefully, these small gifts will help our fellow compatriots in the northern region quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters."

At the provincial Youth Volunteer Team, the location for receiving essential supplies from the Provincial Youth Union, in recent days, we have also received many essential supplies and relief goods for people affected by the damage caused by Yagi typhoon. Youth union members have actively received and classified goods day and night to quickly deliver them to the people. At the provincial Youth Activity Center, the donation program not only receives support from the center's officials and youth members but also receives sharing from many freelance workers, street vendors passing by the center. Everyone is joining hands to support, share, and turn towards the people in the North.

Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, spoke as calling: "With the enthusiasm and proactive spirit of youth, promoting national sentiment and solidarity, under the guidance of provincial leaders, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union of Binh Duong calls on all officials, civil servants, employees of the Provincial Youth Union agency; all levels of the Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Student Union, officials, members, and young children throughout the province should show affection, share, and join hands to support the people in the affected areas suffering from severe storms and floods.
