Indian songs and dances in Bollywood movies have captivated not only the people of India, but also millions of audiences around the world. I will learn more about Indian culture to equip myself with new knowledge,” Van Anh said.
Opening up new opportunities
2022 is an important year because it is the year of commemorating the 75th anniversary of India's Independence Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam. The performance of the Bollywood dance group is part of a series of commemorative activities organized by the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh city.
R.O Sunil Babu, Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh city said: “Vietnam is a key pillar of our “Act East” policy and an important partner in India's "Indo-Pacific Initiative (IPOI)". We view the relationship with Vietnam from a strategic and long-term perspective. Peace, stability and prosperity are our common goals in the Indo-Pacific region. This year, the two countries are members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), where we carry out a common vision, and the two sides have agreed to work closely together on key issues on the agenda of the UNSC. Binh Duong province is home to four large-scale Indian companies, namely Godrej, Marico, Tata Coffee and Wipro. It's about economic cooperation between the two countries and the show by the Bollywood dance group will introduce people to the cultural aspects of India."
Nguyen Khoa Hai, Director of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: “Through this event, we believe that the connection and cultural exchange between Vietnam and India in general as well as localities of the two countries in particular, including Binh Duong will continue developing and improving in scale; thereby contributing to selectively getting mutual cultural quintessence, enriching the cultural and musical identities of each country. We hope that Binh Duong will continue being a safe, friendly "destination" and become a center of many Indian cultural events in the coming time.
