Contest on good teachers for “Vo Minh Duc award” has been annually held by the provincial department of Education and Training in a bid to find out and honor typical and excellent examples in the movement of good teaching and learning. In this year, the contest’s organizing board selected 52 excellent teachers. Nguyen Thi Nhu Mai

In the contest on good teachers for “Vo Minh Duc award” of pre-school level, teacher Nguyen Thi Nhu Mai from Tuoi Tho preschool in Thu Dau Mot city conquered jury by her new and strange exam topic. Mai chose a topic to introduce cricket to her pupils. From waste things, she creates many tools helping pupils discover world around them and applies learning method in groups to help pupils share knowledge together.

Tuoi Tho preschool is located at Tan An commune of Thu Dau Mot city. Most of parents of the preschool’s pupils live on farming or work as workers. Mai added that the preschool pupils have lacked of love and care from parents, owing their parents' busy work. Therefore, if teachers have no love for children, they can not attach to their career.

Luu Hai Yen

3 consecutive years joining in the contest on good teachers for “Vo Minh Duc award” of primary school level, Luu Hai Yen, teacher of Dong Hoa primary school won first prizes. She revealed “I have made efforts to enrich knowledge and experience to offer the most plentiful contents for pupils.

At present, Luu Hai Yen is teaching for 5th graders. She added that aside from creation, teacher should have dedication and morality.

Le Thi Cam Nhung

Le Thi Cam Nhung, a geology teacher of Tan Phuoc Khanh secondary school in Tan Uyen district considers teachers as actors who have to complete their role. Her motto is to create joy in a bid to lure pupils’ attention. She always thinks how to seek out new and strange methods in conformity with lessons’ contents.

Nguyen Duc Chinh

Teacher Nguyen Duc Chinh, the literature teacher of Hung Vuong Gifted School is the only male teacher winning the first prize in this year’s contest.

He said that the contest is a good chance for teachers to show their motivation, creation in their teaching methods. For him, a period of 45 minutes needs to have 4 criteria: creation, zealousness, cooperation and efficiency. Teachers’ creation will be showed via teaching methods and will encourage pupils’ inspiration.

He said that teacher must light flame of intellectual and transmit learning ambition to pupils.

Luong Thi Anh Suong

Joining in this year’s content, Luong Thi Anh Suong, the accountancy teacher of Binh Duong Economics School was surprised by her achievement at the contest. She defeated 25 other colleagues to win the first prize for vocational training bloc. She said modestly “Today’s result is a start for us to improve quality of teaching. We will constantly self-study and self-practice as well as renovate teaching methods in conformity with development of age”.

In response to the movement of “every teacher is a self-study and creation example”, Suong has many years self-studied by many various forms to improve her skills. Therefore, her periods have always increased inspiration for pupils.
