Update: 29-11-2021 | 16:47:41

During the days when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out in the province, the teachers in Dau Tieng district were not afraid of difficulties and hardships to volunteer to the front lines to fight the epidemic. The volunteering spirit of teachers has contributed to the synergy and joint hands to fight the pandemic.

Dang Ha Kiem Anh, a male teacher volunteering for COVID-19 sampling

Mr. Dang Ha Kiem Anh, Principal of Long Hoa High School in Dau Tieng district, is a volunteer to assist and support the epidemic center in Thuan An city in the days of implementing "lockdown and freezing". Volunteering in the early days, Mr. Kiem Anh said: “Our team has 165 members, every day we were assigned to take samples (rapid and Realtime-PCR tests) in densely ‘red’ areas. We started work at 7:00 in tight protective suits in many hours but all of us strictly follow the regulations to support the work of sampling for testing in the total screening for F0 extraction."

After being informed of the location and number of samples, Mr. Kiem Anh began to arrange and assign work to team members to the test site according to the instructions. After the teams arrived at the sampling point, the teacher went down to each testing point to hand over the samples to the locality. In the evening, the members summed up the results of the sampling to the People's Committee of Thuan An city and the People's Committee of Dau Tieng district. As a result, in 14 days, the team participated in sampling support at 7 locations on 86,420 people, of whom 38,411 were under quick test and 48,009 under Realtime-PCR method to separate 1,275 F0 from the community.

The best thing was that after returning to Dau Tieng to conduct quarantine according to regulations, no team volunteers was infected with COVID-19. During the 14-day support, Mr. Kiem Anh always reminded the team members to be very careful. Although the work was somewhat hard, dangerous, and far from home, everyone was happy because they had contributed a part of their efforts to the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic of the province.

Recalling the days of participating in the frontline fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, Mr. Kiem Anh said: "The work was quite stressful because the data was too much and I had to complete the data entry right away, so I had to look carefully on the handwritten list to enter on the computer. The first few days were quite stressful as the members were tired and strained with the phone numbers, permanent and temporary residence addresses of the people. The person taking the sample must record it accurately, so that when the sample is positive, the tracing and quarantine work will be quick and timely."

Ms. Ngo Ton Nu Ngoc Huong, an enthusiastic volunteer
