Brighter life at a Champa village

Binh Duong is known as the land of good treatment to attract many people from all over the world to live and settle down locally where many ethnic minority households are living in more and more stable lives; the family economy is growing more as they have chosen Binh Duong as their second homeland.

 

Champa people in Minh Hoa commune of Dau Tieng district actively participate in local cultural and artistic activities with the unique traditional culture of the nation.

According to statistics, Binh Duong has 30 ethnic minorities with more than 8,000 households and nearly 32,000 people. Most of the ethnic minorities live intermingled with the Kinh people throughout the province. Of such statistics, 3 ethnic groups are living relatively concentrated, namely Champ people in Hoa Loc hamlet of Minh Hoa commune in Dau Tieng district, Chinese people in Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An city, Tan Uyen city, and Dau Tieng district, and Khmer people in An Binh commune of Phu Giao district.

Over the past time, ethnic work has been regularly and effectively carried out by all levels and branches in the province; thereby, the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities in the province is stable, the family economy is growing. Thanks to practical ethnic policies, the living standards of ethnic minorities in the province have up to now been markedly improved to gradually increase the proportion of well-to-do, rich households and gradually reducing poor households.

Coming to Champa Village in Minh Hoa commune of Dau Tieng district today, we witnessed the better and better lives of the local people. With the motto of a good life in good faith religion, the Champa ethnic people have actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to benefiting socio-economic development targets, maintaining and stabilizing the security and order situation for the people of Minh Hoa commune in particular and Binh Duong province in general. The roads are now paved with flat asphalt as the modern construction grid system brings light to the village interspersed with colors. The lush green of the rubber plantations and the things on both sides of the road have shown the ‘change of skin and flesh’ locally. The spacious houses built instead of the shabby roofs of the past are proofs of a full and peaceful life of the people.

According to local leaders, the majority of Champa people in Minh Hoa commune come from Chau Doc of An Giang province. In addition to complying with the laws of the State and some common customs of the Vietnamese people, they also have their own unique customs. The traditional culture of the Champa Muslim community has contributed to the richness, diversity and unity of the national culture in the province.

With the efforts of each person and each household in the community in sharing and responsibility for the community, people's lives have changed a lot. Along with that, thanks to the thoughtful care and support of the local authority, the people of Champa Village in Minh Hoa commune not only have the conditions to promote the traditional identity of the community but also always be in harmony in the great solidarity with ethnic minorities, contributing together with local people to the construction of new countryside for sustainable development in both culture and economy.
