Just stepped out of a food stall at the "Trade Union Tet Market" recently organized by Provincial Labor Confederation of Labor in collaboration with People's Committee of Tan Uyen Town, Thach Huynh Thi and his wife, born in Tra Vinh province, are working at Vietnam Response Co., Ltd. (Tan Uyen Town), said that last year was a tough year for workers when businesses had to face a lack of production orders, working hours reduced, and their incomes also decreased, thus the couple have to cut costs.

Therefore, when he learned about the "Tet Trade Union Market" that sells many kinds of cheap necessities, such as cooking oil, fish sauce, rice, sugar etc., he and his wife came to this Tet market to buy essential items for later use. Huong - Thi's wife, said: "With a tight income plus increasing price of essential items, we try to save more money as much as possible for our family."

Meanwhile, Ngo Thi Hang, a worker at Shyang Hung Cheng Co., Ltd (Thuan An City), born in Binh Thuan province, said she felt very happy and emotional when she came to this Tet market and could buy cheap products, and receive meaningful gifts from Trade Union. "I’m so grateful to Trade Unions at all levels for organizing this meaningful Tet market to help workers far from our hometown to alleviate some of our difficulties on the Tet holidays," Hang said.

Many other workers when shopping at the Tet market also share the same excitement and joy, because they can buy good products at cheap prices, save some living costs to have a happy Tet; at the same time, they feel more clearly the concern and care of Trade Union at all levels for workers, creating more motivation for employees to strive harder at work, happily stay and work in Binh Duong.

The Trade Union Tet market in Tan Uyen Town this year has the participation of “welfare" units and businesses with stalls selling all kinds of goods, consumer products, and good Vietnamese food at a price lower than the market by 10-50%. In addition, there were zero-dong booths of Trade Union to provide essential foods supported by units, businesses and benefactors in response to the call of provincial Labor Confederation.

In addition, medical care activities and legal advice were offered at the program... The program is even more meaningful when the Provincial Labor Confederation gave 2,000 shopping vouchers, each worth 200,000 VND to workers living in hardship for them to shop Tet products at the market.

The "Trade Union Tet Market" organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in collaboration with Binh Duong provincial Labor Confederation recently at Provincial Labor Culture Center had more than 70 stalls selling good essential items at preferential prices with discounts up to 50%, and zero-dong stalls to support union members, employees and local people.

Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also gave away 2,500 shopping vouchers, each worth 300,000 VND to union members and workers having extremely difficult circumstances to buy goods at Tet markets.

In addition, union members and employees coming to the Tet market can also participate in activities, such as folk games, cultural and artistic activities, physical training and sports, and lucky draw with very valuable gifts, like motorcycles, televisions, free medical examination vouchers... and many other activities to celebrate spring and celebrate Tet.

Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Vice President of Provincial Labor Confederation, said that the world situation has affected businesses, caused workers’ income to be reduced, labor contracts suspended and some even lost their jobs. In order to share these difficulties with union members and workers, the program "The Trade Union Tet Market" in 2023 is one of the activities of Trade Union at all levels demonstrating the roles, functions and tasks of trade union organization, in which the task is to take care of the life of union members and employees, especially in the coming Tet and spring holidays.
