Bringing a warm Tet to everyone

Every time, Tet comes, all-level Party committees and authorities of Bau Bang district always pay special attention to taking care of policy beneficiaries and poor people. This year, in order to mobilize community resources to take care of people for Tet, in addition to support policies from the State budget, at this time, all-level authorities, sectors, mass organizations of the district are sprinting to mobilize resources to help everyone, every family welcome a warm and happy Tet.

Good preparations

During the Tet holiday, the province has many situations that need attention and support. Therefore, the province continues implementing Tet support policies for the poor, orphans, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, laborers, especially those living at lodging facilities with difficult circumstances…Like other localities, Bau Bang district has had good preparations to ensure that people welcome the lunar New Year joyfully, safely and economically with the motto of "Everyone, every home with Tet”. The district is also active in taking care of policy families, revolutionary contributors and poor people; ensuring the local political security, social order and safety, serving people to celebrate Tet.

Leaders of Bau Bang district and localities visit a policy beneficiary family

Nguyen Phu Cuong, Vice-Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People's Committee said that this year’s Tet comes early, so preparatory work for Tet care activities was also carried out early. At this time, it is nearly 1 month until Tet, but many individuals and units have been proactive to coordinate with socio-political organizations and local authorities to organize delegations to give gifts for disadvantaged people. As of now, the district has also made specific plans, carefully prepared for trips to give Tet gifts.

In order to support policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the Tet festival 2023, under the expected plan, the district will give more than 8,500 gifts from the central, provincial and local authorities to policy households; organize delegations to visit and offer Tet gifts worth more than VND 9.8 billion to heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the armed forces and revolutionary contributors; poor and near-poor households, those just escaping from poverty...In addition to the central and provincial State budget to support the poor and policy families during Tet, Bau Bang district has also mobilized charitable organizations, agencies and businesses to join hands in taking Tet care of the poor and policy beneficiary families.

Enjoying happy Tet holiday

Like every year, the last days of the year are often the time when people are busy and hurry off to welcome Tet with many emotions. In a spacious four-level house in Tru Van Tho commune’s hamlet 4, Nguyen Thi Huong's family is also eagerly waiting for Tet. While cleaning up her house, she said: In 2022, her family was approved for housing construction support. After the construction period, the house was inaugurated in mid-July. The 50m2 house has the total construction cost of VND 110 million, funded by Dat Vang Company, the Notary Office of Bau Bang district and donors in the commune. This year, her family is able to welcome a joyful and happy Tet in the new house.

Not only Huong's family, all people in Bau Bang district will also have a warm and happy Tet. Taking care of the poor, especially when Tet comes has become a beauty that shows the efforts by people from all strata together with departments and mass organizations, contributing to ensuring social welfare, stabilizing security and order in the locality and aiming at the goal that all people enjoy a happy spring. “With the sense of responsibility of each level, sector and locality, Bau Bang will organize activities for people to celebrate Tet joyfully, safely and economically; make sure that no one is left behind, families and people all welcome Tet safely and happily", added Mr. Cuong.

He added that one of the most urgent activities in localities today is to be busy with activities to welcome Tet, from decorating streets to propagandizing people to decorate their houses, alleys, and hang flags and mobilizing all resources to take care of policy beneficiary families, the poor, etc. Localities need to speed up the task of rechecking the list of households in need of help during this Tet holiday and coordinate with relevant units to gradually organize activities to visit and give gifts to create the warm joy for policy beneficiary and disadvantaged families. Besides, since the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the "zero dong” market-day has been held regularly in the district, supporting more than 2,500 turns of disadvantaged people, young workers and laborers at lodging facilities, the blind and lottery ticket sellers. The total value of "zero-dong” market-days was more than VND 1 billion.
