On regular basis of days near Tet, people of all sectors and agencies make their donation to activities of Tet caring for the poor and socially privileged people in the society for the upcoming Tet.A warm springIn those days, various charity drives have transported a tremendous amounts of commodities to donate to the poor and socially privileged people. Mr. Huynh Van Rang, residing at Lai Thieu Ward of Thuan An Town, is offering gifts to families in poverty The single gift may be less in value but much more in expression of care for those people.Having opportunities to accompanied by family of Mr. Nam – an oversea Vietnamese in Australia at Lai Thieu Ward of Thuan An Town, we could witness all the meaningful charity drives. Only 370 gifts of commodities were given at the cost of VND 150,000 each but the sentiment was great at home of the local poor in Thuan An and many other charity homes.Nam, residing in Australia, created the charity group named “Opportunity givers” to support, on regular basis, the poor in his homeland.The movement of taking care for the poor in Tet has been wide spread in Binh Duong Province. Mrs. Nguyen Thi The, Deputy Chair of Association for Disable, Orphan and Poor Patient Support, informed that the help was to bring a joyful and happy spring to those being disadvantaged.Thus, from the 10th to 21st of lunar December, the association has made gift visits and donated 1,750 gifts to poor people, orphans, and disables across 23 communes, Association of the Blind, Center for Orphan Education and Care at the cost of VND 200,000 each including sugar, milk, rice, mononatri glutamat, cooking oil, and VND 100,000 in cash.Tet for the poorBeing cared about by the society, thousand families in poverty in Binh Duong Province are now assured of a warm Tet. The evidence was true in 2013 when various families in poverty were beneficiaries of policies and support of the province in escaping poverty.Through various forms, functional agencies in Binh Duong Province have robustly implement poverty reduction policies of the central government together with suitable local supporting policies to help specific people in poverty. Thus, poverty ratio in Binh Duong Province was rapidly reduced. Notwithstanding, Binh Duong Province has elevated poverty bottom line in each stage to encourage and sustain poverty escaping efforts.“I am a member of a poor family in years; however, we have now escaped poverty through various efforts,” said Mrs. Phan Thi En.Aside from measures to reduce poverty, organizations and unions have organized various activities to diversify help and support for the poor in the upcoming Tet.Youth’s League, Woman Association, Farmer Association, etc. have offered not only funds but also jobs, vocational training, and charity houses to the poor.“In the Tet to come, we shall have a new house donated by Association of Disables, Orphan and Poor Patient in coordination with Association of Female Entrepreneurs in the province. The house is 60m2 in area and costs VND 48 million, of which, Association of Female Entrepreneurs donated VND 30 million. The donation is very encouraging to us.
