Bui Minh Thuy wins first stage of 6th BTV-Cup cycle tourney

Early March 9, 75 cyclists from 12 domestic teams and 3 foreign teams from the Philippines, Mongolia and the Netherlands competed for the 6th international Binh Duong Television (BTV)-Cup cycle tournament’s first leg from central Quang Tri province’s Dong Ha city to Hue with a total length of 70km.

With his excellent performance, cyclist Bui Minh Thuy from Vinh Long team triumphed at the stage with a total time of 1:27.55 and an average speed of 48.455kmh. Do Tuan Anh from Domesco Dong Thap and Mai Nguyen Hung from  Sai Gon Plant Protection finished second and third, respectively.

Vinh Long team is also in the lead after the first stage, followed by Domesco Dong Thap and Sai Gon Plant Protection 1. Today, cyclists continue their 110km race from Hue to Da Nang.

*Before beginning their first leg, cyclists of the 6th BTV-Cup cycle tournament, on March 8, paid a visit to Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery in the central province of Quang Tri to commemorate heroic martyrs herein. On this occasion, the organizing board of the tournament also donated VND10mln to the management board of the martyrs’ cemetery.
