Binh Duong farmers in the period of industrialization and modernization are those with advanced scientific-technical knowledge and skills in agricultural production in each region's strength.

Production thinking improved

Hieu Liem commune in North Tan Uyen district has strengths in agricultural production and agricultural economy also plays a leading role. Over the past time, the local Party committees and authorities at all levels created conditions for farmers to access science-technology and acted as a bridge in linking production. Therefore, locals boldly invested in expanding farming land and forming up the mindset of large-scale production.

Hieu Liem commune is now home to many large-scale farming households, closely linking and participating in the activities of the Farm Owners’ Association of "Hieu Liem communal Fruit Trees Club". Members of the association regularly exchange experience in handling crop diseases, the price situation of agricultural products and how to form up the local production and business linkage chains.

With a concentrated production area of more than 3,000 hectares, farm owners in the commune are in dire need of information related to production planning and orientation. To foster and update knowledge to help farmers access policies, provincial Farmers' Association has just coordinated with provincial Department of Science and Technology, Sub-Department of Environmental Protection to organize consultancy activities for the commune’s farmers.

At the association's headquarters in Cay Dung hamlet, representative of provincial Department of Science and Technology has introduced policies on intellectual property and brand building; policies in the field of science and technology. In addition, provincial Environmental Protection Sub-Department has informed a number of regulations on environmental protection in agricultural production for farm owners to register for implementation under the provisions of law.

Huynh Tan Loi, Vice-Chairman of North Tan Uyen district’s Farmers' Association said: "Through the conference, members of the communal Farmers ‘Association have accessed policies related to the fields of environmental protection and science and technology, thereby promoting investment and stabilizing production development".

New model of farmers

Over the past time, the province spread many examples of farmers actively participating in the patriotic emulation movement, producing and doing good business, deserving to be agricultural entrepreneurs...The local farmers also organized trips to learn experience in areas with modern and thriving agriculture to apply in the direction of increasing organic agricultural products and circular agriculture, which is currently a new trend in agricultural production in the country...

The 8th Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Association for the 2023-2028 tenure has determined orientations for development and improved the quality of members, striving to form up a new generation of farmers with management capacity and professional production skills, step by step intellectualizing farmers. Implementing this direction to continue building a new model of farmers, the Executive Board of provincial Farmers' Association will build a cooperation program between farmers, scientists, businesses, banks, distributors; create a chain of links to support farmers in improving the value of agricultural products; strengthen services, activities on consultancy, support and vocational training to meet the practical needs and interests of farmers.

During the 2023-2028 tenure, provincial Farmers ‘Associations at all levels will focus on mobilizing members to participate in organizing production linkage groups and clubs; effectively implement programs and projects for socio-economic development in rural areas and orient the organization of agricultural production; proactively grasp market signals, apply science and technology advancements and improve the quality of added value.

According to the Standing Board of provincial Farmers' Association, in the coming time, provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels will increase activities on consulting, introducing potential and effective models linked along the value chain associated with programs on capacity training and improvement. On the other hand, they will participate in programs and projects to develop e-commerce; consider testing the initiative of "Each farmer is a trader, each cooperative is an enterprise applying digital technology" with the goal that each farmer is oriented and trained to apply digital technology in production, supply, distribution, forecasting of agricultural products...

During the 2023-2028 tenure, provincial Farmers' Associations at all levels will focus on mobilizing members to participate in organizing clubs and production linkage groups; effectively implement programs and projects for socio-economic development in rural areas and orient the organization of agricultural production; proactively grasp market signals, apply science and technology advancements, improve the quality of added value...
