Building up a modern and civilized Phu Giao with capacity for integration

The statement was made by Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee at the conference announcing Phu Giao district’s regional construction planning to 2040 and investment promotion in 2024 held yesterday morning (December 11). Being re-established in 1999, Phu Giao district has achieved proud achievements, increasingly affirming its position.

Harmony between urban and new-style rural areas

Phu Giao district has determined a roadmap for the local development until 2040 towards comprehensive and sustainable development with a balance between economy, society and environment. Accordingly, the development space of Phu Giao district is divided into 3 regions, including central urban - industrial area; agricultural areas along the Be River and nature conservation areas.

Speaking at the conference, Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of provincial Department of Construction said that the urban system in the province in general and in Phu Giao district in particular, has complied with the orientation of Binh Duong provincial Planning for the period of 2021- 2030, with a vision to 2050. Phu Giao district plans to develop 4 urban areas, including Phuoc Vinh town that is a fourth-class city, acting as an administrative, political, economic and cultural center. Social and cultural development of the district and 3 new urban areas of Phuoc Hoa, Tan Long and An Long are developed under the criteria of a fifth-class city, which is a general service urban area along Ho Chi Minh city - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway.

Regarding the development orientation of rural residential areas, Phu Giao district plans to build communes under a new centralized new-style rural model associated with inter-district and inter-commune traffic systems. Newly formed residential areas are associated with large specialized farming areas and mechanized agricultural production; build a system of residential areas with technical, social, commercial and service infrastructure associated with concentrated residential areas, with the goal of improving people's quality of life and gradually reducing the distance with urban life.

In addition, Phu Giao district will arrange 11 resettlement areas in 10 communes to serve the site clearance, compensation and implementation of essential works and traffic infrastructure in the area with a total area of ​​more than 123 hectares and 4 auctioned land locations serving infrastructure investment in the district with a total area of ​​about 86.55 hectares. The district will also arrange land funds for social housing projects to serve industrial parks expected to be formed in the district, specifically An Binh of 96.01 hectares, Tam Lap social housing area of 49.4 hectares, Phuoc Hoa social housing area of 35 hectares; housing areas under the province's housing development program and social housing project.

Comprehensive and sustainable economic development

According to To Van Dat, Vice Secretary of Phu Giao district’s Party Committee, Chairman of the district’s People's Committee, Phu Giao district's regional construction planning to 2040 has set out strategic directions, ensuring that it will fully uphold potential and strengths of the district while closely connecting with the general development goals of the province and the Southern Key Economic Region. The planning focuses on key goals such as developing clean industry, high-tech agriculture associated with services and eco-tourism; building a modern urban and traffic infrastructure system; creating an attractive investment environment and protecting the environment.

Accordingly, Phu Giao district plans to develop 4 industrial parks with a total area of ​​2,800 hectares, namely Vinh Lap Industrial Park (IP) of 750 hectares, Phu Giao 1 IP of 550 hectares, Phu Giao 3 IP of 500 hectares, Phu Giao 4 IP of 1,000 hectares and 18 industrial compounds with a total area of ​​1,183.06 hectares. In addition, the district developed two logistics centers that are adjacent to Phuoc Vinh quarry area near the North  Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road. Espencially, by 2040, Phu Giao district will still be considered as an important agricultural production area of ​​the province, in which technology-based agriculture plays a key role. Accordingly, the district focuses resources and calls for investment to develop the formation of technology application and high-tech agriculture development zones in An Thai, An Linh, Phuoc Sang and Tan Hiep communes. The distribution of developing agriculture and high-tech agriculture areas should be based on the regional traffic system and combined with the irrigation system along the Be River to facilitate the transportation of agricultural goods to consumption points.

Regarding animal husbandry, the district develops farm models suitable for each type of livestock in a controlled, semi-industrial and industrial method, applying scientific and technical advancements and biosecurity, reducing environmental pollution; ensuring food safety and hygiene for livestock products. In terms of tourism, the district focuses on developing 3 types of tourism, including agricultural tourism, resort tourism and historical-cultural tourism.

For priority investment projects, the district focuses on developing new-style urban areas, industrial parks and compounds as planned. The district also focuses on developing fruit growing areas and promoting eco-tourism along the Be River; upgrading infrastructure systems on society, traffic, education, healthcare, culture, physical education and sports, 220kV and 110kV transformer stations... Speaking at the conference, Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee emphasized that Phu Giao district’s regional construction planning to 2040 is not only a strategic step in exploiting and developing the local potential, but also contributes to creating a favorable and attractive investment environment. Phu Giao district needs to further develop infrastructure systems on traffic, electricity, water and other public services to create favorable conditions for investment attraction; reform administrative procedures to be open, transparent and accessible to investors; focuses on planning industrial parks, residential areas and service works to create the best living and working environment for people and businesses.

Mr. Dung also noted that in the context of industry 4.0 developing strongly today, encouraging enterprises to apply high technology and digital transformation in production and business is extremely necessary. Phu Giao district needs to organize training programs and technical support seminars to improve the skills of the workforce, helping them adapt to new era trends. Especially, localities need to have effective solutions to protect ecological environmental resources, care for people's health and life; create favorable conditions for everyone to benefit from the local development.

On this occasion, Phu Giao district’s People's Committee organized a conference to promote trade, attract investment projects and sign a memorandum of understanding with investors, marking the first step for investment cooperation in projects of An Binh Industrial Compounds 1, 4, 7, Tam Lap Industrial Compounds 5; Phuoc Vinh market; Phuoc Vinh Wastewater Treatment Plant; Tan Long Waste Treatment Plant; Agricultural product processing factory.
