In the past 5 years, a 4-principle program sponsored by province’s Women Association has brought about practical results.

 

To effectively construct program building up homes, the association has launched emulation movements and prioritize the program to be one of the 6 focal duties. By the approach of ‘family centeredness’ with special role of women, the association maintains propaganda and introduction of knowledge and skills in building up homes in gathering events and clubs. Thus, awareness is enhanced, prompting women to join in charity, mutual supports, and poverty reduction.

Moreover, the association grassroots has joined up with other sectors to organize meaningful activities that promote propaganda, education, communicative experience accumulation, children education to avoid crimes and social evils. Those are the cooperation with police sector that has launched joint circulars on managing and educating families’ children. Drug fighting clubs and groups were established with 960 members and 1,397 women.

 

Along with propaganda, practical activities were conducted to support women and children including scholarship and charity houses. According to the association chairwoman Tran Thi Lien, women are supported to develop household economics by preferable loans and bank mortgages, especially for poor and nearly poor households. In period of 2005-10, over VND 300 billion was disbursed to women in forms of loans.

In the mean time, activity models are reformed for better actions. A happy home not only includes “warmth, equality, and advancement” but also cultural features of each family, community and society. Family is a cell of society. And society is only healthy if family is healthy.

 

As the matter of fact, the program is especially meaningful to individuals and families in the course of developing more and more prosperous society.
