Bus traveling services are improving

Update: 15-12-2010 | 00:00:00

Buses in Binh Duong province is improving both in quality and quantity.

Bus services are improving to satisfy the needs of travel in the face of infrastructure development and demographic growth. In Binh Duong province, this mean of transport has becoming significant in daily life of workers, officers, and students. Up to date, 21 bus routes are operating with 226 25- to 80-seat vehicles servicing averagely 38,931 turns of passengers daily.

Tran Viet Hung, interim Chief of Transportation and Traffic control office, confirmed results of servicing were thanks to increasing demands; and thus, the quality and scales had been extended. He also informed that old vehicles had been replaced by new ones with better conductors’ servicing. To promote passenger transportation in 2010, the Department of Transportation has cooperated with Finance Department to ask for approval of Provincial People’s Committee to subsidize bus fares.

“Previously, I rarely use buses except for occasions of visits to friends in Binh Duong. I choose bus for my daily transportation now because routes are extended with short waiting time and bus fares are reasonable for me,” said a passenger from Tan Uyen.

However, there are fewer buses in remote areas of Phu Giao and Dau Tieng where services are low in terms of behaviors of drivers and conductors

To actually call for more bus passengers, Department of Transportation needs effective and long-term measures to launch more bus services to people to Bien Hoa, Hoi Nghia, Dong Xoai and industrial parks in Binh Duong province as parts of solution for traffic jam. The measures are effective in a way that Binh Duong is being promoted to a city with focal industrial parks and great amount of labor forces.
