Businesses pay attention to workers’ lives

Update: 24-06-2011 | 00:00:00

Province-based businesses have paid attention to the lives of workers to keep them via many significant deeds, including building tenements for them or kindergartens for their children, improving the quality of meals for them…

Workers feel worried when facing the lack of reliable kindergartens for their children

In a bid to take care of the lives of workers, Binh Duong Garment One-Member Company in Thuan An town has built a modern tenement with four blocks of 2 hectares. Each block includes one floor grounds and six storeys with 106 rooms of between 50sq.m and 75sq.m each. One of the four blocks was built and put into use by the end of 2009.

The tenement has a total expense of VND110bln, including 20% of total from the company and the remainder from provincial Investment and Development Fund. According to company personnel manager Nguyen Hong Anh, each block of the tenement will provide accommodations for nearly 1,000 workers. As planned, the company will consider and sell apartments in the tenement for workers who have demand in the future, helping them have a stronger attachment to it…

Trinh Anh Tuan, chairman of the Trade Union of Hai My Company in Thuan An town also said that the company has planned to build a kindergarten for the offspring of workers, helping them keep their mind on work. It is expected that this kindergarten will be built on a 1,400sq.m area of the company for the first phase.

Many other companies, namely Viet Shing, Tien Trien companies…have also spent money on building hundreds of lodgings for workers. So far, tens of companies in province-based industrial parks have got involved in building tenements for workers with total investment capital of more than US$25mln.

Possibly speaking, spending money on building tenements, kindergartens, sports grounds...for laborers is not only a wise strategy of businesses, but also expresses their attention to laborers in the current difficult period.
