A new school year is coming. This is the time that markets of textbooks, school supplies become more animated. Parents, pupils are busy shopping to prepare for new school year.
Parents selected books for their kids at Binh Minh bookstoreBusy shoppingThese days, big bookstores and supermarkets in Binh Duong province like Binh Minh bookstore, Binh Duong bookstore, Coopmart, Big C are crowded with parents and pupils coming to shop for textbooks, school supplies… Parents want to buy good and suitable for their children to enter a new school year. Mr. Pham Van Toan living at Hoa Loi commune, Ben Cat district took his daughter to Binh Minh bookstore at TDM City to buy her a set of 1st-grade textbooks. “We are worrying, because she is new to the 1st grade. We have just bought all things for her, because it would be difficult to find necessary things after the school year started”, said Mr. Toan.Nguyen Tuong Phuong Thy, 12th grade pupil, said: “I usually buy full set of textbooks for me and my sister (5th grade pupil) as close to opening school day”. Due to low demands, sales of notebooks, school supplies in June and July were not high. But sales of these products since August have increased, because pupils had known what they need after came back to schools”. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan living at hamlet 8, Dinh Hoa ward, TDM City, who has 10th-grade son and 6th-grade daughter, took her children to bookstore for other reasons: “My children are transferring their school levels this year. I brought them here in order not only to buy stationeries, but also for them to see many other kids are preparing to go to school so that they can enter new school year with optimal mentality”. Diverse stabilized goods and discounted programsIn this year, price of one textbooks set of from 1st to 12th grade is from VND83,900 to VND271,900. Since summer, provincial bookstore, supermarkets have implemented price-stabilization and discounted programs in order to reduce economic burden of parents and pupils.Binh Duong bookstore Chief Ms. Nguyen Hong Tham said: “This year, BD bookstore is carrying out price stabilization program discounting 10% to textbooks, reference books. Some kinds of notebooks and school bags are discounted 15%”.According to Binh Minh bookstore Chief Mr. Bui Minh Quang, from May 1st to August 31st, BM bookstore has implemented price stabilization program applied on national Fahasa network, in which textbooks and reference books are discounted 10%. Some notebooks of Fahasa are also discounted 15%. School supplies such as notebook cover, label, schedule, pens, rulers, etc. have 10-17% discounted price; some school bags, handbags of Hami, Mr. Vui have 10-15% discounted price. From August 1st to September 15th, BM bookstore will launch “International color friends” discounted program to reduce prices of some color pencils, in which Crayola color pencils are discounted 32%”.From July 2nd to July 22nd, Big C supermarket launched a discounted program, in which some school supplies’ prices were lowered by 10-20%. Student uniform, kid clothes, etc. were discounted 5-50% together with attractive gifts, notably goods produces by Big C were discounted 20%. Snoopy Vinh Tien notebook was discounted significantly in 3 weekend days.
