At the end of the year, as businesses and workers are busy with orders, agencies, sectors, and employers are also bustling with various tasks to ensure "everyone has a Tet holiday." Recently, many programs have been implemented to bring Tet to workers, aiming to create motivation for them to work with peace of mind and to remain committed for the long term in Binh Duong.

Bringing Tet to the workers
Mrs. Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the provincial Trade Union, stated that during the Tet holiday of the Year of the Snake 2025, labor unions at all levels in the province will focus all resources to care for and support workers in difficult circumstances, creating conditions for everyone to enjoy a warm and fulfilling Tet. Many programs have been implemented to carry out this policy. Specifically, the provincial Trade Union has issued a plan to support train and bus tickets for union members and workers traveling home to celebrate Tet 2025.
According to the plan, the provincial Trade Union will allocate funds from the provincial trade union to support 1,000 train tickets for workers returning home for Tet in the Central and Northern regions. The train will depart on January 23 to 25, 2025. At the same time, in order to facilitate workers returning home for Tet, the Vietnam General Trade Union will provide 450 train tickets and 80 plane tickets for workers in Binh Duong province to two airports of Vinh (in Nghe An) and Noi Bai (in Hanoi).
During the Tet holiday of the Year of the Snake 2025, the provincial Trade Union will organize the program "Tet Reunion - Spring Grateful to the Party" associated with specific activities such as the opening of the "2025 Trade Union Tet Market" program; organizing visits, giving gifts, and extending Tet wishes to union members and workers, especially those who are still in difficult circumstances, with low income, suffering from serious illnesses, occupational diseases, workplace accidents, and those lacking or losing their jobs. The Trade Union of the province will advise the provincial Party Committee, the provincial People's Committee, and various departments to visit, wish a happy Tet, and distribute gifts to union members and workers in the province.

Based on the survey, the Trade Union of Binh Duong Province proposed that the provincial People's Committee pay attention to allocating local budget resources to support 50,000 workers in difficult circumstances to stay during this year's Tet holiday with an amount of about 50 billion VND, corresponding to each gift package (cash) being 1 million VND. “This not only aims to implement the work of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, especially during the Tet holiday, but also ensures that every worker has a warm Tet, which is a way to retain and attract workers to stay connected with Binh Duong,” Mrs. Nguyen Kim Loan shared.
Working people always taken care of
Binh Duong is currently attracting a large number of workers, and this workforce has greatly contributed to the development of the province. Therefore, caring for the material and spiritual life of workers, especially during holidays and Tet, not only demonstrates a humanitarian spirit but also reflects a shared responsibility. Therefore, since the beginning of the year, the levels of trade unions in the province have focused on effectively carrying out the work of caring for union members and workers. Not only providing material support, the trade unions have also organized many recreational activities, creating healthy playgrounds for union members and workers to participate in, generating practical ripple effects.
In the 11 months of 2024, trade union levels in the province have cared for and supported union members and workers with a total amount of over 310 billion VND; nearly 100,000 union members and workers benefited from shopping at the "Union Tet Market." The provincial People's Committee also supported 44,400 gift packages with a total amount of 44.4 billion VND to visit and give gifts to workers in harsh circumstances.
According to observations at the grassroots-level trade unions, such as the Trade Union of Industrial Zones in the province, VSIP Trade Union, Textile Industry Trade Union, and the Labor Federation of districts and cities, all have organized activities to visit and give gifts to workers in difficult situations. Specifically, in 2024, the VSIP Trade Union organized the "Beneficial Market for Union Members" program, with the participation of over 20,000 union members and workers attending to visit and shop. The program also donates 5,000 gift packages to workers in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of 2.5 billion VND. VSIP Trade Union has also supported 778 bus tickets for union members and workers in difficult situations to return home for Tet, and has given 182 train tickets to union members in difficult situations during the Tet 2024. In addition, the unit has organized the distribution and delivery of gifts at the base trade union, totaling 8,000 packages with a total amount of 8 billion VND.
Not only concerned about the material and spiritual life, the trade union levels in the province also focus strongly on the grassroots in the work of caring for and protecting the legal rights and legitimate interests of workers; coordinating with relevant agencies to ensure that enterprises comply with regulations on increasing the regional minimum wage for workers and the policies for holiday and Tet bonuses. In addition, there is a focus on developing union members, establishing trade unions; organizing dialogues with workers to capture their feelings and sentiments.
Caring for workers to have a warm Tet holiday is a humane policy of employers, even though the production process is not always smooth. In the journey of implementing this policy, there is always the companionship of trade union organizations at all levels as well as local authorities.
