Catholic community upholds the spirit of solidarity, working together to build up Binh Duong with sustainable development

Early April 21, provincial Catholic Solidarity Commission held the 9th Congress of "Vietnamese Catholics build and defend the Fatherland" for the 2023-2028 tenure.

The congress was attended by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Danh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

Over the past years, the Catholic people of Binh Duong promoted the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and mutual assistance, helping each other do business, contributing to the local socio-economic development. Especially, in response to the campaign "All people unite to build civilized urban and new-style rural areas", the local Catholic people had concrete and practical deeds in building cultural families and villages. In addition, they actively participated in supporting funds for the poor at all levels, charity funds launched and mobilized by the local mass organizations; took care of policy beneficiary families, revolutionary contributors, disadvantaged people… Notably, over the past 5 years, they contributed more than VND 30 billion to the local cause of education.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Loc believed that provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee will continue well performing its role as a bridge between religion and life, gathering, uniting and encouraging the local Catholic compatriots to promote good values, actively respond to patriotic emulation movements launched by all-level authorities and Fatherland Front  Committees...

The congress elected 67 delegates as members of the 9th provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee for the 2023-2028 tenure. Priest Nguyen Van Rien continued being elected as Chairman of provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee for the 2023-2028 tenure.
