Economic growth

Bau Bang now has a total natural area of 33,915 hectares, a population of 85,000 people and 7 communal administrative units.

In 2014, the district’s total production value was estimated at VND11.854 trillion with an economic structure towards sustainable development: 54.4% in industry, 26.1% in services and 19.5% in agriculture. The district’s total State budget revenue was VND484.191mln or 100.02% of the plan set out by the province. Industrial production value reached VND6.447trillion, up 14% compared to 2013.

After one-year establishment, Bau Bang has made a breakthough in socio-economic development and infrastructure.

Many enterprises also made investment in the district last year. The district has so far lured 259 investment projects, comprising of 221 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of more than VND1.475trillion and 38 FDI ones with a total registered capital of US$225.902mln.

Since being established, the district has reached a diversified development in trade-service activities. The district’s value of services in 2014 obtained VND3.092trillion, a year-on-year increase of 22%. Especially, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam’s Binh Duong Branch registered to open its headquarters in the district.

Last year, the district’s agricultural production value achieved VND2.315trillion, up 4.2% compared to 2013. The district also saw stability in animal husbandry, contributing to stabilizing the lives of the local people.

Nguyen Van Minh, Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee said that thanks to high solidarity, the district has overcame difficulties, focused on economic development and reaped good results.

Infrastructure investment boosted

After more than one year of establishment, Bau Bang has reached a synchronous development in infrastructure. Synchronous investment has been implemented for inter-district/regional roads. Last year, the district spent more than VND150bln on inter-communal roads.

Bau Bang urban area is being invested. Especially, there has been a detail plan of the1/1500 scale for the district’s administration center with nearly 90 hectares in total. The design of the district’s 9-storey administration center building is awaiting to be approved by provincial People’s Committee.

Infrastructure investment is of great importance for the local economic development. Particularly, traffic system invested in a synchronous way has not only facilitated people’s traveling, goods transportation, but also contributed to promoting services and increasing people’s income.

In 2014, Bau Bang built 4 schools, including 3 primary schools and 1 junior high school, with a total expense of more than VND200bln. On average, each school is capable of teaching 1,500 pupils.

The district also carried out a program of eliminating electricity meters with a total expense of VND50bln at the local people’s demand for daily life and production.

In 2015, Bau Bang will continue building additional two primary schools and one preschool at the learning demand of workers’offspring; complete and put a 9km-street with a total investment capital of VND120bln into operation. The district will also further upgrade schools, medical equipment; build a cultural house and communal roads.

Bau Bang will strive to become an industrial district in the 2015-2020 period. To achieve this, the district will make efforts in shifting the local economic structure towards industrial-service and urban growth.

According to Mr.Minh, the district will put focus on goods distribution network and retail system development to promote the local trade-service sectors. The district will also impulse its commodity and passenger transport system, logding business models…

Possibly speaking, important achievements done by Bau Bang in 2014 was the premise for the locality to further reach quick and sustainable development in the next years.
