Update: 03-03-2014 | 00:00:00

As an agricultural commune, Chanh My commune in TDM city faced many difficulties right from the first days of establishment. The local Party, government and people over time made more efforts to build up a locality with changes in all aspects. This positive development was marked by the birth of Chanh My ward today, creating premises and opportunities for the locality to further fly.

From an agricultural commune with difficulties, Chanh My has constantly developed with 92% of roads covered by asphalt and 60% of roads equipped with lighting system. Its socio-economic infrastructure works have been built in a synchronous way under criteria of a three-class city.

According to Chanh My ward’s People’s Committee Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet, the local Party, government and people aims at developing Chanh My into a satellite ward of TDM city. The ward’s economic ward has so far reached a right shift with trade-services, home industry and agriculture at 64%, 35% and 1%, respectively.  Currently, the rate of the local non-agricultural laborers accounts for 93.2% of total. The local average housing floor area is 21.92sq.m with 96% of solidly-built houses.

The ward’s market is now capable of sufficiently supplying consumer goods for the local people. Some other activities pertaining to trade-services have also loomed large along main streets, namely Binh Duong Avenue, CMT8, Huynh Van Cu, Nguyen Van Long.

Noticeably, many projects on socio-economic infrastructure, including the Chanh My ecological urban area with more than 300 hectares, the Chanh My garden villa area with more than 12 hectares, the Tuong Binh Hiep-Chanh My housing-trade estate with nearly 6.5 hectares…, have been implemented in Chanh My ward. In general, all the above projects have been zoned in a synchronous way under the overall planning of TDM city, creating a linkage to broaden the local urban space.

Along with successes in economic development, Chanh My has also paid more attention to taking care of the local policy beneficiaries and poor people. The lives of the local people have been improved with the average income per capita in 2013 reaching VND33.5mln. The rate of the local poor households now accounts for 0.28% of total.

So far, the ward has made many positive changes in the fields of health, education, culture-information. The ward has also built a preschool, a primary school and a secondary school with national standards.

Mrs.Tuyet said that through propaganda and mobilization work, people herein have actively made contributions to the local construction and development process…

New paces

Thanks to having a consensus between the local Party, government and people, the cause of building and developing Chanh My ward has reaped many results worthy of pride.

But, according to Mrs.Tuyet, Chanh My ward’s infrastructure has not yet met the local requirements for development in the new period…, so the ward needs to speed up more practical and basic measures to implement its set targets. As oriented, Chanh My will be a ward of the modern city with main development on trade-services, eco-tourism in association with urban agriculture…

Accordingly, Chanh My ward’s targets till 2015 are to gain an economic structure with 65% in trade-services, 34% in home industry and 1% in agriculture; reach the average income per capita of VND35mln a year; have 100% of rural roads covered by asphalt and cement; improve the quality of education, public healthcare; maintain political security and social order…

Mrs.Tuyet affirmed: “…It is sure that from now till 2015, Chanh My ward will further rise up together with other localities to successfully implement the province’s targets on socio-economic development, national defense and security”.
