Charity kitchen contributes to sharing difficulties with the poor

After nearly one month of operation, a charity kitchen set up by Thien Hoa charity group at No.132/4, Ngo Quyen street, Lai Thieu ward, Thuan An town has always got crowded with lottery-buying children, vendors and many other poor people. In the afternoons, they have frequently come to the charity kitchen to enjoy free meals. Such free meals have actually contributed to share difficulties with poor people, especially in the period of prices on rise.

 Sharing difficulties with the poor

 In the afternoons, hundreds of poor people who earn their living by many jobs have gathered at the charity kitchen to enjoy free meals.

  Dang Thi Quoi, a lottery buyer from central Quang Ngai province said: “…Lottery buyers like me have felt very joyful when knowing that there is a charity kitchen at Cho Lai market, especially after the Tet holiday when the prices of commodities have risen up”.

 Although frugality, free meals at the charity group are full of compassion, helping poor people get more confident to rise up in life.

 Coming to the charity group, all people have been very cheerful. They have sat together to enjoy free meals and shared difficulties in daily life. Such meals have also contributed to help them save money and reduce expenditures. Teo, a lottery-buying boy said that free meals at the charity group have helped him save more than VND300,000 each month, which will be used to assist his family…

 Needing more hearts

 Volunteers like Nguyen Thi Nhang, Pham Thi Kim Oanh, …have felt very happy when making contributions to the charity group. In addition to poor people, the charity group has also attracted many donors. The money from donors will be used to develop the charity group, helping the poor enjoy delicious and full meals.

 Following the success of the charity kitchen at Thuan An town’s General Hospital, the Thien Hoa charity group has joined hands to open another charity kitchen at No.132/4, Ngo Quyen street, Lai Thieu ward, Thuan An town. This is also the house of Nguyen Thi Hien, former director of the town’s General Hospital. She has allowed the Thien Hoa charity group to open this charity group herein to share difficulties with the poor and give support to 23 disable people from An Phu social support center in HCM city.

 With the support of individuals and organizations such as doctor Hien, Lai Thieu township’s Chinese Society, the Bao Hoa charity group, Kim Chau jewelry shop…, the local poor people will further enjoy charity meals…
