Child accident, injury prevention program in 2016-2020 to be approved

PPC has issued Decision No. 1128/QD-UBND to approve the Child accident, injury prevention program of Binh Duong province in the 2016-2020.

Accordingly, subjects of the program are all children in the province. The program set targets: Controlling child accidents, injuries, especially child drowning accidents and traffic accidents to ensure the safety of children, family happiness. Some specific objectives: Reducing the rate of child accidents, injuries by below 600/100,000 children; reducing the rate of child deaths caused by accidents, injuries by below 17/100,000 children; at least 80% households with children to meet "safe house" criteria; 100% schools to meet "safe school" criteria and at least 12% communes, wards and townships to meet "safe community” criteria; decrease at least 25% of child deaths caused by traffic accidents compared to 2015; decrease at least 6% of child deaths caused by drowning compared to 2015; at least 90% children in primary, secondary schools to know traffic safety regulations; 100% children to use life jackets when participating in water transport; 100% districts, towns and cities to give safe swimming lessons to children ...

The program includes 7 contents and 9 missions, solutions. The program will be funded by annual budget, donations of organizations and individuals, and other legal sources. In particular, the estimated State budget allocated to the program in 2016-2020 is over VND6.836 billion.
