Citizens contribute more than 3 billion VND to upgrade and expand road to Binh Diem market

On January 16, People's Committee of Phu Hoa ward (Thu Dau Mot city) held the inauguration of Road 233 through quarter 8. Nguyen Van Dong, Provincial Party Standing Committee member, Secretary of Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee, attended the ceremony.

Road 233 has a length of 750m, a width of 7-9m (connecting Le Hong Phong and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets, passing Binh Diem market). Because the road is degraded, making it difficult for people to travel and do business, People's Committee of the ward mobilized people and businesses to contribute more than 3 billion VND to upgrade and expand the road. Currently, the road has been paved with asphalt and has a drainage system. Besides contributing money for road construction, locals also donate land to widen the road, contributed more than 300 million VND to build a garden with an area of nearly 300m2 as a relaxation place for people around the Binh Diem market area.

On this occasion, the ward’s administration also presented Tet gifts to 30 disadvantaged households in the area to help them celebrating Tet. Phan Cong Khanh, Secretary of Party Committee of Phu Hoa ward, said that this was a large project in the city, 100% contributed by the people. The locality will continue to mobilize locals to build some similar projects in the future.
