The young city of Di An has just welcomed the new spring with tremendous changes from a suburban land of mainly agricultural production, and weak infrastructure to one of the civilized, modern urban and worth-living areas after nearly 25 years of establishment and development.
Di An city is changing strongly day by day in the development trend to match a class 2 city, creating momentum in the process of progressing to a class 1 city. In the photo: A corner of Di An city is seen today.
Goals achieved
Spring seems to add to Di An City a fresher and more brilliant outlook with wide and long roads, commercial areas, busy residential areas, and urban areas which are cleaner and more spacious. The province's first steel overpass across the 550 intersection has just been put into use, painting the young city a picture full of bright colors and overflowing vitality.
Three years ago on February 1, 2020, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued a resolution on the establishment of Di An city, which had made a great change and an important foundation for Di An to expand its development space and realize the goal of becoming a class 2 city, and step by step becoming a driving force in the south of the province, also a milestone marking the breakthrough of Di An after the long term of formation and development.
Joy has just come to the people of Di An City right in the first days of the new year when the Appraisal Council of the Ministry of Construction agreed to propose the Prime Minister to recognize Di An city as a class 2 city. According to Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van, the investment and development of Di An urban area from class 3 in 2017 reached the threshold of a class 2 city in the context that there are only 22 class 1 and 33 class 2 cities nationwide. It has always been a great local effort. In Di An urban area, the rate of industrial transformation is very high, which is rarely achieved in any other urban area, e.g. the rate of industry over 70%, service 29%, agriculture about 0.2%, urban rate up to 82% and others.
Strong outreach
In the early days of the year, on hearing that Di An city was recognized as a class 2 city, Le Duc Phong, living in Tan Phuoc neighborhood of Tan Binh ward, couldn't help but be proud. He said, in fact, Di An has developed for many years, the people are already urban residents. But on hearing that the locality was recognized with a new standard, his emotions were still the same as the first day. Since the day Di An turned a city, it also opened up a new face for the old land of enthusiasm, opening up the future for the people of the homeland with more opportunities.
Like Phong, generations of locals are very proud of their homeland. Sticking with the field for many generations until one day key roads such as My Phuoc - Tan Van, Binh Tri road to Tan Thang residential area connect Tan Binh to the surrounding areas, the lands with revolutionary bases such as Ho Lang, Mach Mang, Ho Ngua - Ho May now have comprehensive development steps. People's lives faced challenges in the agricultural economy, but today the colors of the city are clearly visible in each residential area, street, and corner by the shift of urban growth, services and commerce.
Bui Thanh Nhan, Secretary of the Di An city Party Committee, said that right after being recognized as a class 3 urban area in 2017, Di An city has made a strong transition in urban development. Urban infrastructure is increasingly spacious and modern as 100% of the roads managed by the town are asphalted. Economic - technical infrastructure is step by step commensurate with urban development requirements. Education, health care, and cultural and sports facilities are invested with a commensurate scale to meet the needs of the people, motivating Di An city to focus heavily on the implementation of the goal and roadmap to build a class 2 city, which has now become true.
New stature and bravery
Di An city is currently a satellite town of the whole Ho Chi Minh city region, adjacent to many large urban centers and is a driving force for development in the whole region. In addition, under the investment attention of the government and the province, Di An urban area has established a traffic system of road, railway, waterway, and airway, etc., continuing to create growth momentum for the city now and in the future. Di An city is also located in the Vanh Dai 2 and Vanh Dai 3 routes, contributing to the development of urban areas in the region.
Vo Anh Tuan - Deputy Chairman of Di An city People's Committee, said that in order to become a dynamic, rich, beautiful and civilized city, Di An city is currently focusing on urban planning. The city has basically finished adjusting the urban development planning for the 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, implemented and approved detailed planning for urban development areas, cultural, physical training and sports centers, residential and commercial areas. Currently, the city is urgently implementing urban embellishment to match the city-level scale.
According to development orientation, by 2030, Di An city would become an industrial-service-educational city, a traffic hub by road, railway and a part of waterways of southern Binh Duong and the east of Ho Chi Minh city, where has been an important position in terms of national defense and security. By 2040, Di An urban area would be a service-education-industry city, a university urban center, a regional transport hub, in which the industry is oriented to develop intensively.
Accordingly, from now to 2030, Di An city will continue to invest in technical infrastructure of traffic routes of Vanh Dai 3, My Phuoc - Tan Van extension connecting the eastern bus station, upgrading and opening wide road of DT743B and Doc Lap Boulevard connecting Song Than overpass intersection. Di An city will pay attention to building urban development areas such as the commercial service associated with Song Than station, the commercial service area attached to the Eastern bus station and metro stop areas along the Vanh Dai 3 along the way, continue to invest in logistics infrastructure, modernize infrastructure and equipment for existing warehouses, upgrade and expand ICD TBS - Tan Van connecting with Binh Duong port among others.
The young city entered the new year with new beliefs and new aspirations. Springtime energy is still spreading all over the streets. In the hustle and bustle of production at the beginning of the year, people's hearts are softened by the sound of birds chirping and murmuring streams winding their way through the Ho Lang base area into the fresh green of the natural ecological forest. The poetic feature has now been embellished with great works. Ho Lang relic is being urgently built to be put into operation soon. Real change has come in the land as the modern and civilized cities are gradually reaching out their dreams.
