City’s leader sends letter encouraging cadres, soldiers and locals to join hands to defeat Covid-19 pandemic

On February 2, Nguyen Thu Cuc, Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot city’s People’s Committee sent a letter to cadres, soldiers and people across the city, encouraging them to join hands to defeat Covid-19 pandemic.

In her letter, Mrs.Cuc shared: On January 31, 2021, our city has reported a case of Covid-19 in the community for the first time. She is the student of Thu Dau Mot University. And from 00:00 of February 1, 2021, the city decided to impose isolation for some areas in Phu Hoa ward while stopping festivals, mass gatherings…The decision was issued when the local people will welcome the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival in the next 10 days. This makes units, enterprises and locals face difficulties in the near-Tet period when their demand for shopping, travelling is increasing.

Sharing difficulties with the city’s administration, locals have seriously complied with social distancing, isolation rules, helping the city drastically, urgently realize measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

The Tet festival 2021 is approaching. This is a special Tet for the city’s people, cadres, soldiers as they must welcome Tet in social distancing for Covid-19 prevention and control. Medical staff, police officials, armed forces and volunteers must sacrifice their time with families to keep safety for the local people. Every family must sacrifice  the time for going shopping, visiting relatives to stay at home for the period. This is a difficult period, but leaders of the city believe that with determination and steadfastness, people, cadres and soldiers across the city will quickly surmount the difficult period so that all will welcome a peaceful and happy Tet.

She also wished the local people, cadres and soldiers good health and believed that the city will defeat Covid-19 pandemic.
