Civil servant rank-promotion exam 2019 to be held

On May 8, Binh Duong People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the 2019 civil servant rank-promotion exam. Attending the ceremony were Nguyen Tu Long, Deputy Director of Department of Civil servants, Ministry of Home Affairs; Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; and representatives of related departments and agencies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Liem emphasized: This is the first year Binh Duong holds a classification scale promotion exam according to the Government's Decree No. 161 amending and supplementing a number of regulations on recruitment of civil servants, promotion of civil servant's classification scale in order to supplement and gradually improve and standardize civil servants and officials in the province, especially at grassroots level. Therefore, he suggested that the examination council and candidates should strictly follow the regulations and take the exam seriously, especially to strictly implement the Covid-19 prevention and control as recommended to ensure the safety of the exam and candidates.

This year's exam had 174 participants, including 111 contestants of rank-promotion from specialist to main specialist; 63 candidates from staff member or equivalent to specialist or equivalent. Reportedly, out of the 174 candidates participating in this year's exam, 99 contestants were public servants holding leading and managerial positions at the department or higher level, accounting for nearly 57%.
