Up to now, according to the classification of administrative units, Binh Duong province has 4 cities, 1 town and 4 districts with 91 communes, wards and townships. According to urban classification, Binh Duong province has 1 urban area of class 1 which is Thu Dau Mot city, 2 urban centers of class 2 which are Thuan An and Di An, 2 urban centers of class 3 which are Ben Cat and Tan Uyen, 5 urban centers of class 5 which are towns of Dau Tieng, Phuoc Vinh, Lai Uyen, Tan Binh, and Tan Thanh.
In the process of development, a series of problems have also arisen from the rapid urbanization in the province, namely air pollution, environmental degradation, traffic congestion etc. Besides, the negative impacts of climate change which are also exacerbating challenges in urban areas to include increasing flooding in many localities in the province.
In fact, it is not enough just enough about technical infrastructure, environmental sanitation, trees, and lighting, but the important thing is the consciousness of people living in that urban area.
While the speed of urban development has not kept pace with the development of socio-economic infrastructure, in order to build a civilized city, people's consciousness plays an important and decisive role. Clearly identifying that, each citizen must be conscious of joining hands to make the locality where they live cleaner and more beautiful. Since then, each person needs to voluntarily comply with regulations on security, order, and environmental sanitation, without encroaching on common space. Besides, branches, levels and localities also need to step up propaganda to the people so that they are both responsible for building a civilized city and be the beneficiaries of its values. At the same time, management agencies must have enough forces and clear policies to be able to thoroughly and deeply manage and maintain a sustainable civilized city.
