Community art program inspires a sense of responsibility in youth

The community art program is not only  a musical event, but also a playground that inspires and fosters a sense of community responsibility among young people.

Initiated in 2023 by the Music Department of the Faculty of Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Industries under Thu Dau Mot University in collaboration with the Cultural Information and Sports Center of Thu Dau Mot city, the Community Art Performance Series has become a regular music event at the Bach Dang Walking Street in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Cuong ward, contributing to meeting locals and tourists’ needs of enjoying art and entertainment.

Le Truong An, a music student at the Faculty of Cultural, Sports and Tourism Industries under Thu Dau Mot University, expressed his joy in performing for the Community Art Program, where he could showcase his talent and connect with the audience. He shared that it was an opportunity to develop skills and learn from those around him.

In addition to performances at Bach Dang Walking Street, the October program, themed “Youth Journey” was held on the outdoor stage of Thu Dau Mot University and was warmly received by students. Hong Diem, founder of the university’s Arts Club, described the community art program as a wonderful experience. Performing in front of friends, lecturers and the public was exciting for her, creating meaningful moments of connection with the audience. This is an opportunity to not only promote each performer's ability, but also create unforgettable memories for Hong Diem

Dr. Nguyen Thi Luu An, Head of the Music Department at the Faculty of Cultural, Sports and Tourism Industries under Thu Dau Mot University noted that the program is not only an artistic activity, but also contributes to diversifying spiritual food for students, residents and tourists. "This is an opportunity for young people to practice their performance skills and promote community spirit", she said.
